They can't be much louder than a lawn mower or AC unit?

Although, the 8am Sunday lawn mower deserves to have a beer bottle thrown at their head.

I have 1 asshole neighbor that years ago complained about me playing music loud.
One morning a year or two ago he was out mowing his lawn at like 6:30 on a Sunday morning .
I'm usually up early on the weekends so i honestly didn't care, but the hypocrisy was stunning

Just tell the person to shut the fuck up and close their windows and take their ass to sleep.

Yep, while they are hot and you are cooler in your generator place.

Before this thread, I didn't even know generator etiquette was a thing.

Its not like people run those things with the power being fully functional.

Based on the responses here I’d say it’s not a thing and RPB’s buddy was just being a old man yelling at cloud type.

Yeah. I guess outside of a few crazy pockets on FB or Twitter, its not a thing.

Yet

my buddy bought 3 generators at a farm auction a few years back for a few hundred dollars all 3 work great. he sold each on for 500 bucks yesterday on FB marketplace. I told him you sold them for too little.

Yea, I guess so. Just the one guy I know and the fb community post saying the neighbor threatened to call the cops on them.

The guy I know is really laid back and cool usually, pretty out of character for him. His wife is different, maybe it was her influence.

I've lived in condos/apartments most of my life so some of this stuff that is specific to houses is a bit of an unknown for me.

Yeah I wouldn’t have thought about this before either but it does seem unreasonable to expect someone to cater their generator usage to your whims during a power outage. That’s different than mowing the lawn at 6 am
