Yeah when I don’t have anything else spicy enough I’ll throw in chopped jalapeños.

How do the chicken salad people prefer to prep their chicken?

I poach it or grill it.

Am I the only one who likes ham salad? It's not my favorite of those listed, but sometimes it hits the spot.

I saw a tub of ham salad at the deli and had to stop myself from yelling "THAT SHOULD NOT BE!" and causing a scene.

I'm the only person I know who likes it.

We would sell that, and the related sandwich spread, when I worked at the Eagle Deli Circa 1994. It would go in waves and some people absolutely loved it. Secret ingredient was not love.

So did mine. Apparently I have the ham salad gene.

Chicken salad, egg salad, and tuna salad are all great

Tuna salad is cat food.

I've never had ham salad, and agree, it looks terrible. I don't think I've ever had chicken salad either. If I have, it wasn't memorable.
I'm a big salad-salad guy. Every day for lunch.

Chicken, but not heavily mayo based. Curry, buffalo, or faux-cajun sauce base instead.

Interesting base.

It sounds like it would make me piss out my asshole, but I like it.

Whole Foods sells a curry chicken salad in the deli section in their Chicagoland stores. Not particularly hot.

Making it yourself is a good way to use leftover rotisserie chicken and leftover vegetables.

I'm not a huge curry fan but tapas places have a good one. My dad duplicated it pretty well. I should ask him.

I am not a big fan of mayonnaise so all of your tuna, potato, and chicken salads are out for me. Big fan of chef salads with a Catalina or red French dressing. I used to get those from McDonalds all the time back in the day. The chopped salad at Portillos is a good choice for lunch if you don't want to get bogged down with a greasy burger or beef sandwich. My wife and I have started getting the Asian salad from Aldi and we put in a grilled chicken breast and some onions. Makes a pretty good, healthy meal.
