When I was in Omaha, it was unsettling for that to happen.

I find being in Nebraska unsettling in and of itself.

It surprisingly was pretty nice imho.

Omaha and Lincoln are both very nice towns.

what's the deal with champagne on tap or draft champagne or whatever it's called. only places i've seen that is in Omaha/Lincoln and bars in other towns run by people from Omaha or Lincoln. Omaha used to have midnight last call or something absurdly early. Maybe everyone day drinks there all the time and that's why they drink cheap champagne by the pitcher.

I'll keep this in mind if I ever start to drink champagne.

Big Battery propaganda

I replaced mine with those 10 year lithium battery smoke detectors. Tired of those batteries going out at 2:00 am

Thats when the firmware update downloads so it's a heavy power consumer at that time.

No way to adjust the circadian rhythms on that firmware?

Or if you ever make it to eastern Nebraska you'll see it everywhere. You can't miss it. Whether at a corner pub out by Warren's house or a fancy-for-Omerha hotel downtown they try to push it on you when you go into an alcohol serving establishment:

There’s only one thing that I know how to do well and I’ve often been told that you can only do what you know how to do well and that’s be you. Be what you’re like. Be like yourself. And so I’m having a wonderful time but I’d rather be whistling in the dark…ness.

If you are ever in Lincoln, stop at Leadbelly.

Not a bad idea, but test them every 6-8 weeks or so.

Haven’t seen that in my travels but we aren’t exactly going a lot of places and tend to be in an even more rural area of the state. Every few years we talk about stating in Omaha instead of Blair but I think the goal is to spend as little time kn Nebraska as possible usually.

Time change doesn’t bother me anymore but I work around daylight not a clock.

Nope. Family has some farm ground north of there. It’s a 2-3 times a year visit with my father and sometimes my brother as well.

I'm used to it now. When my wife and I were first dating, we'd go over there, and it threw off my whole day for some strange reason.

From about mid June to the 3rd week of July the sun starts to rise around 430am, and finally goes down around 11pm up here in West ND.

It is something to get used for sure.

Especially if you’re trying to go to bed around 9pm or so.

Blackout drapes. They’ve saved us many early nights.

Yes!
My bedroom is nearly three quarters underground. Blackout drapes. My room at 11am is as black as Seacrest's heart.

Seacrest won $1000 just by declaration. He should try that at the Illinois State Lottery offices.
