i think some of this is its the hot story of the moment. Trains derail more often than most would imagine. The infrastructure in this country has abysmal safety ratings. Bridges especially.

Anyways, this is like when it seemed there was a spike in police shootings some years ago. There really wasnt. It was just the media was reporting on all of them at the time.

You're right, but on average 3 trains derailing daily should be looked at more closely.
