That seems to be what every media person says. Anyone here think different?

Almost certain it's mini ditka.

If it is him, he was hiding it really well until he went cuckoo for Cocoa Puffs a few weeks ago and started screeching about Jesus.

I don't really think the alt-right has a founder, does it? It's not really an organization per se. Alt-right is just a catch-all phrase for a loose collection of non-traditional right-wingers that have some common interests. There are certainly racists among them.

The alt-right are the current phrase for what used to be called the Dixiecrats.

The only thing they had in common with the rest of the Republican Party of the 60s/70s and even early 80s was common ground on states' rights, albeit for different purposes.

The Democrats didn't want them any more, the Republicans needed the votes after Watergate and after George Wallace got shot and was no longer a factor, so the establishment "federal defense/state commerce" Republicans like Gerry Ford held their noses and accepted them. And now they can't get rid of them, sort of like kudzu.

i remember the alt-right essentially being the sociopolitical equivalent of "the electronica section" at best buy. it's like one day i showed up to look for APHEX TWIN stuff right next to FIONA APPLE but i saw no product/name-plates for him next to fiona, so when i asked the best buy worker he's like "OH, THAT'S ELECTRONICA SO YOU CLEARLY WANT THE ELECTRONICA SECTION...." and i was just kinda like "what the fuck is 'electronica'?" but then i realized that robert miles' "children" was playing on the best buy PA during this exchange w/the worker so i reckon "the electronica age" was definitely here among us. (same thing happened with "IDM" or "Intelligent Dance Music" popping up as a term for others to be all like "so that's what you are [into]!")

obviously i'm not claiming any sort of alt-right (even if i could harbor pipe dreams of being "one of the good ones" to dan bernstein =) but from reading places that would later be grouped into that "alt-right" pejorative, yeah, it's the same thing like finding out some music you've liked for years is now "electronica" or "IDM' (much to your disdain)

what part of #DeathToAllWhiteMen is unclear to you? last i checked there was no wiggle room in this anything-but-ironic noose that will bring about a better tomorrow!

also yeah, afaik the alt-right doesn't have a bonafide "leader" (let alone founder) but for some reason whenever i heard "alt-right" the word/mental-image association was always "Gavin McInnes" -- but this was b4 "alt-right" became a peJORRative/boogeyman for the left in the later stages of the 2016 election/s. i reckon milo yiannopoulus or someone like that probably had some designs to try and step up and claim some kind of "leadership position" within "the alt-right" but then once the left went nuclear on the whole "alt-right = nazis" thing he probably backed off of those pipe dreams, least of all cuz he's actually jewish (just like breitbart and etc =)

so uhhh yeah, while the term "alt-right" always made me think of gavin mcinnes, it doesnt have a founder or a leader afaik. it was just a label/peJORRative/boogeyman cooked up later on to try and group a bunch of wrongthinkers into one easy to [hate] umbrella term that covered a lot of area from the fierce storm of [social] JUSTICE constantly raging outside [of grandma's basement! *rimshot* =]

lol wuuuuuuuuut. The "alt-right" is a bunch of dorks who played lots of video games online and somehow got into Nazism. No connection to old-time southern Democrats other than both groups liking the n-word.

If that were true they wouldn't have swung a national election. You are living in an echo chamber my friend.

They didn't swing anything, Obama voters stayed home.

If Democrats keep waiting for Obama to save them then they are even more fucked than I previously thought.

you stumbled onto something in this message that i basically brought up in another thread to =P at lipid--- this whole "alt-right" moniker/label/tag* seems as impromptu/forced/etc as the "Gamergate" moniker/label/tag* and if you stop and think about it, it's basically being used as like.... you know how in the jason bourne movies blackbriar was a treadstone upgrade? well "alt-right" is a "gamergate" uipgrade cuz you're calling the SAME fat neckbeard virgin *.* losers [read: "kids" who hang out on the chans] essentially the SAME general peJORRative.... it's just that now the scope has been widened....

or if you wanna be a bit more honest: the test/dry run with "gamergate" showed how effectively mass-deployment of the blogosphere to propagate a message (say: "gamers are dead" or even the general "Gamergate is..." mantra) worked... so "they" basically used the same damn playbook that made "gamergate" a bad word / pejorative / all-in-one-ad-hominem to people like lipid and basically upped the ante and went for broke with "alt-right" being a newer fresher and EVEN MORE DAMNING attempt to label "them" as [wrongthinkers/FEMA-camp-VIP-listers/etc]

so yeah TLDR = once again CH pretty much nailed it in a way more concise fashion; this impromptu "alt-right" label/pejorative is basically a new way to call the same "gamergate" assholes something newer/worse/more-damning, plus since "gamergate" was inherently tied into video games and therefore its reach was limited to gamers, "alt-right" can go way further in terms of grouping more people into the labeling/tagging* since you don't even have to own an x-box or PS3+ to be a part of "the alt-right" so therefore you can doublefuck your core demo of *chan nerds/stereotypes/caricatures and reach out to other undesirables who you might have missed the first time you tagged* them because they werent into video games (ethics =)

also * = by tagging people, man, don't you find it at least mildly ironic that the people who wanna "tag" or "label" people as gamergate/alt-right/trump-supporter [read: racist/sexist/homophobe/bigot/hatemonger] as a means of showing everyone that they're "problematic due to their beliefs" are oblivious to the fact that this is roughly the social [media] equivalent of making people walk around with a big ol star of david patch on their clothes at all times? *twilight zone theme*

Yeah, it's the 4chan/Breitbart overlap of Gamergate all over again, but "alt-right" is actually a euphemism for what they are, which is half-baked neo-Nazis who like anime. I mean, "alt-right," what's that supposed to be, people who like small government and Uncle Tupelo?

There are many things that could be called "the saddest thing about these people," but certainly among the sadder is that the hero of 4chan/Breitbart overlap, Milo Yiannopoulos, wouldn't piss on these people if they were on fire.

No, because they made conscious decisions to be tiresome pseudo-edgy scumbags.
