that you found out later and probably should have known. Even if it's embarrassing, go ahead and admit it.

I had no idea that San Antonio is the 7th most populated city in America. It has more people than Dallas and San Francisco.

I would have guest 30th or somewhere around there. Which begs the question. Since it is the 7th biggest city, why only one pro sports team in that town?

Here's the list of American cities by population. Houston is gonna pass Chicago in a few years.

After reading years of Beardown posts, who would have guest that his dark secret is not knowing where San Antonio is ranked on the U.S. city population lissed?

I was googling Chicago's population and stumbled upon this list. That's all. Jeez.

The city size really doesn't matter as much as the metropolitan area. San Antonio is 25th on that scale for the US. Fake cities like Colombus show up pretty high on the list of cities, but it has no suburbs, so falls to 32nd. I guest it probably has a bit to do with how much money is in the area too, how close they are to existing teams, etc.

True. Miami is in the 30s. But they have a big metro area. I was still shocked to learn San Antonio had that many people.

When I was a kid I got into an argument with my friend. I thought South Bend was in Wisconsin. Not Indiana. That's where I thought Notre Dame was located. He was right.

My ex-wife grew up in Wilmette and she used to think Dyche Stadium was Notre Dame.

I heard about a good little league coaches row the other night that educated me on a rule I thought I knew. I believed that if a runner was hit with a batted ball that the umpire declared it a dead ball with the runner out. I was told that the caveat to that rule is that if a defensive attempt is made on the play with the fielder missing the ball entirely that it neither the runner is out nor is it a dead ball.

I am still waiting for a game where the teams understand the infield fly rule. People are fooled on that one every single time. "WAIT WAIT WAIT, WHY IS THE BATTER OUT WHEN THE SECOND BASEMAN DROPPED THE BALL?"

That one is pretty easy although not known by all. The umpire calling it out usually confuses the infielder into dropping the ball, at least at young ages.

I was at a game earlier this year with guys on second and third with first empty, pop-up behind the pitchers mound and the umpire called infield fly. Runners advance, ball drops. Hitter runs to second, runner from second who is now on third scores. Manager comes out and says, you said infield fly. Umpire says even though I called it, it can't be applied in that situation. Nothing was done to adjust the play -- 2 runs score and man on second.

At a fundamental level everything we know now is something we did not know in the past. Aside from basic motor functions all of our behavior and knowledge is learned. Silly thread.

Christmas is on December 25 in both hemispheres. Don't you watch your Santa tracker?

it's not too difficult to represent yourself to take your ex back to court for violating terms of your Marital Settlement Agreement.

I also learned firsthand that the way one files court documents is incredibly time consuming. I cannot for the life of me understand attorneys retain their sanity. props to Shakes and any other legal professionals here on the board.
