He popped in on a fellow co worker yesterday unannounced, masked and goggled up. The picture was hilarious.

About a month ago the company made a quick pivot from "prepare to work from home all year and into 2021" to "it's time to go back to the office"

What led to this is unclear but it is what is. I cant take public transportation so driving downtown (they pay parking)

Speaking of work optics, I have people who’ve been off for five months doing nothing, making full pay, and they want to make sure they still have all their vacation days intact. And another who is working from home but submitted an expense report for Post it notes when he’s saved almost $1000 in commuting costs over the last five months.

I was thinking about commuting costs but you'd have to deduct some from how much more electricity used in the summer. You still come out ahead.

What I saved in commuting I spent in office supplies and I would be willing spend twice as much to have the commute time of working at home. I have realized that my 1hr+ each way may not be for me if they make me go back full time. I supposed it may be something I get used to again but and may have to when the job market crashes.
