LTG, you're coming off really poorly in all this. Guys like me and JORR are not defending Trump at all. We dislike him, did not vote for him, and think he is bad for this country. The alternative, while the lesser of two evils, was nearly as bad.

You were all in on Hillary. We are in no way all in on Trump.

For my part, I am just hopeful he will work on issues that I care about. I would have the same hope if Hillary had been elected.

Right. I'm certainly not hoping that Trump is as awful as it seems he will be.

LTG is absolutely right about folks defending or excusing behavior by Trump. A lot of doublespeak.

A lot of the excuses are "It's no big deal because it's Manny being Manny" to put Trump's behavior in sports terms.

Have to cross your fingers that there will be good governing to outweigh the idiotic behavior.

The Trumpets are just trolling him. As for me (and everything I have read from JORR), I fully stand by what I said above. We're not defending him. We believe the media has a bias. For my part, I fully admit that I have a bias and may not be a good judge of CNN.

There are Trump defenders and then there are Trump defenders. There are different degrees to Trump defenses. During the period that I really harper on the issue there is no doubt that people went out of there way to defend the guy. Where you fall in all of this don't know. I never placed you in that group as I recall.

In terms of Jorr it is a slightly different story. He does criticize Trump but he defends him much more. There is a "but Hillary" quality to most of his posts about Trump. This argument has little to no relevance now. Trump is the President.

As far as others go there are people that virulently defend the guy. They defend him even as they profess not to support him. I just provided an example of two previously. The only reason I brought it up was because TM stated that I never provided evidence. I have on numerous occasions.

You can't really find a post here of anyone saying, "That's just Trump." Most of us are appalled by him.

Some are very upset that he is the next president rather than Hillary Clinton. Many of us were almost as appalled by her as we are by Trump. Almost.

Doesn't Fox News have a bias too? Also I will admit that there is a bias but Trump treats the media like shit. There is a strong argument to be made that if it were not for the media he wouldn't be President. As someone on one of the shows pointed out the media was providing Non stop coverage of him even while he was polling at 1%. It is hard to make the argument that the coverage was representative of the interest.

You've never used Trump being Trump but you have used euphemistic terms like "goof" to describe him. I think you were one of the people to call him racist though. That counts for something.

Trump isn't a left vs right issue though. Both sides came down hard on him, so even if you lean right it's hard to see how that perspective makes you sympathetic to the idea that non partisan media outlets are unfairly targeting Trump (they're not), who is certainly not a figurehead of the right. Trump is held to the fire because he doesn't know how to lie in ways that don't trigger alarms.

They can't be. I really hadn't written anything during the first 3 pages and they still defended him.

Put me in the "that's just ole' Donny" group. I'm not appalled at all, think he's a great guy and gonna be a great President. Any bad thing he said was just used to rile up voters. He doesn't mean half the shit he says. LIke when he said illegal mexicans were rapists and murderers he didn't mean all of them, just most of them.

What do you think "goof" is a euphemism for? I can assure you I didn't mean it in a complimentary fashion or as any type of excuse for his behavior. I don't think calling someone an ignoramus is benign. I certainly would prefer not to have a goof as president.

"Goof" "clown" "ignoramus" do not have quite the bite that "xenophobe" "racist" and "Islamaphobe" might have. Not to mention fraud, crook, and tax evader might have. What about sexual assaulter? Goof doesn't really encompass the full scope of what this guy happens to be.

I'll never forget years ago when the african american guys at the shop (including a 1st generation nigerian here as a student) got into a huge fight with the hispanic guys on second shift. Called each other all the ethnic racist stereotypical things you can imagine. Never imagined anyone but white people could be racist before that. 1st shift got stuff done faster but with a higher reject rate and 2nd shift got things done way slower but with a zero reject rate. Neither side were angels.

Love it or leave it! Bunch of liberal lies. Guy isn't a racist for hating criminals and terrorists. And by definition you can't sexual assault models. That's what they're there for. Also if we're being serious here, locker room talk is not the same as sexual assault.

Admitting to grabbing women by their pussy makes him a sexual assaulter.

Does this actually count as a defense of Trump? Let's begin to keep a tally before talk of no one "defending Trump" ratchets up again.

If you're going to (for whatever awful reason) continue your Quixotic quest of outing all these closet Trump supporters with the worst display of evidence since the bloody gloves, at least get the damnable quote function down correctly.

I am not looking to tell you what you think, but it comes off to me that some hate Hillary so much that it sort of pains you to criticize Trump. Just my opinion. It seems like every seemingly legit criticism of him by the media is that they didn't do those same things to Hillary or that if anyone criticizes something he does, it goes back to her. And at this point, it just seems like a bizarre argument to me. Most here don't like Hillary, either, but she's not even in the conversation anymore. If Trump is doing something dumb in year 4, are we still going to be referencing Hillary?

LTG, you're coming off really poorly in all this. Guys like me and JORR are not defending Trump at all. We dislike him, did not vote for him, and think he is bad for this country. The alternative, while the lesser of two evils, was nearly as bad.

You were all in on Hillary. We are in no way all in on Trump.

For my part, I am just hopeful he will work on issues that I care about. I would have the same hope if Hillary had been elected.

The posters on the board defending Trump tend to be trolls like SomeGuy and shakes or the lunatic fringe like Beer Fan.

Of the serious/earnest political "regulars"--JORR, BRick, Nas, Curious Hair, denisdman, Reader, Darkside, America, City of Foools, pittmike, etc--the only poster to actively support Trump is America.

Wow... didn't really want to make your stupid list, anyway, ya' left wing nut job.

I didn't mean to omit anyone--especially you or Don Tiny--but LTG's claim is so absurd that I kind of half-assed my response.

If you're going to (for whatever awful reason) continue your Quixotic quest of outing all these closet Trump supporters with the worst display of evidence since the bloody gloves, at least get the damnable quote function down correctly.

Yeah, LTG, what's your goal here? Who cares. I got three people in my family who voted Trump, two of whom probably did it to get a free flight back home. Cheap bastards. The other lives off the rent Alex Jones pays him for space in his head. And no, I'm not related to Mini Ditka.
