Reading some of the ones from NFL Sunday, it feels like they are all just spit out by an AI computer.

so you're saying someone in journalism "learned to code"

No, but I'm sure an IT dork could program something to spit out a fill in the blanks NFL story, MadLibs style.

With Buttigieg, it's that he hit the scene with some fairly progressive rhetoric (packing the court! heavens to Betsy! my precious paper!) but as soon as he smelled blood in the water he pivoted to being Gay Rahm Emanuel and gobbling up rich people's money. It's deeply cynical and separates him from a candidate like Amy Klobuchar, who is to the right of many of her opponents but has been nothing but honest about it.

In other words he’s a politician. This is news?

Okay. Who are we allowed to dislike and why?

Buttigieg's a Mckinsey alum. Brandon Taubman with better PR.

You can dislike anyone. I dislike most of them. The vilifying of him definitely seems over the top to the point it’s hard to even take seriously.

I don't think these people are finding the job environment they were expecting.

Isn't the media's love for him similarly over-the-top?

Good guy Dave.

I'm sure the unemployed Deadspin writers will still try to crucify him for this

While Julie complains how miserable it was outside and tweets about binge watching TV on Veterans Day she get a schooled on how to be an effective successful activist on twitter by Portnoy .

He was one of their better writers and I've never heard of this second rate outlet. My guess is most of the crew is finding it rough out there right now

one of the SJW followers will dig in to the company and find a minority partner once donated to a republican candidate... which automatically deems this company to be the worst.... and he'll be forced to resign and do better by twitter and resume searching for SJW compatible employment

TheScore used to be Canada's version of ESPNews: they carried limited and low-interest sports programming but mostly functioned as a score ticker, hence the name. Then Rogers bought it the way Rogers buys everything and rebranded it as Sportsnet360, which is Canada's version of Fox Sports 2. They basically exist to carry the Calgary Flames when the Edmonton Oilers are playing at the same time. However, they didn't buy the intellectual property, which sort of floated off in the wind and continued as a standalone content-mill website. Second-rate outlet is generous here; it's basically Fansided with the name of a defunct third-tier Canadian cable channel on it.

I wonder what his answer was about sticking to sports. Doesn't seem like a place looking for political takes.

So much for the thought none of them would quit if they did not already have a job lined up.

It has now been over a month since Deadspin imploded. How many of these folks have found a job yet, or are they discovering that there really isn't a market for their "talents"

Based upon the Twitter handle they threw together to promote whatever freelancing pieces they get, the freelance pickings have been slim.

Plenty of their writers were freelancers.

Is Deadspin being updated? I checked a few times and the articles seem stale. I wonder if my avatar chick is paying her rent? You might recall she was refusing to pay until the landlord turned on the heat.

After 6 weeks of him and his colleagues getting no work other than a few freelance scraps, a Deadspin writer starts to come to the realization that he is fucked

https://theoutline.com/post/8404/how-to ... i=x3oqgvej

I called this shit 6 weeks ago. The people at Deadspin are going to be viewed as unemployable within their space. No editor or manager is going to sign off on wanting these people around. Their style won't translate well to other sites either.

  You mean employers aren’t lining to hire writers who say “I’m going to write what I feel like no matter what you say “ ?

Wow, guess you don't need Deadspin to publish meandering self-indulgent dross after all
