That was the one rule in my house. And I have well adjusted sons

That's fairly easy to do 15-20 years ago when the cubs sucked.. Now, not so easy when all their buddy's are wearing cub hats n shirts.

 Yeah. The Cubs got popular two years ago.

5 years ago it was rare to see cubs hats n shirts on people, it's commonplace now.. People like winners. Look at all the 6-15 year old kids wearing cubs gear now on the south side.

Maybe some of you do for your sons and I'm just a Neanderthal, but that would bother me a little. Sorry, it's just how I feel.

Would have no issue at all...how else would my theoretical son (2 daughters) know how to steam peas?

Correct. And anyone who defends this behavior is part of the reason why people can't get behind modern "Liberalism."

I'm with you. I am one of the more liberal posters here, but I don't understand this stuff. My boys will be raised as boys.
I agree.

I had a similar incident back about 10-12 years ago when I used to work at Villa Pizza in River Oaks Mall. I remember it was a busy Saturday nite, but it was close to 9 and we were getting ready to close. At this point we only had about 2 pizzas out on the table and no sides really. A woman comes up carrying her toddler, who I would guess to have been about 3-4 years old. She wanted to get him a slice of a stuffed spinach pizza that we normally had. I explained to her we had sold out of that and with the mall ready to close I would not be making any more. I offered some of the meatlovers stuffed that I still had out, but she said, "Oh no thanks he is a vegetarian" and she walked away.

RFDC said its a child whose parent wants them to be that.

A toddler is not going to chose to not eat meat, just like they are not going to choose to be the opposite gender.

Yep. I met a mom once who wouldn't let her toddler drink alcohol. I mean, where does it end?

I was thinking the same think but it was a great story. It takes a lot of balls to work at the River Oaks mall and not get shot.

I believe that is the slippery slope we were discussing earlier.

We have a neighbor that has two young boys. One is lactose intolerant, so she avoids giving either boy ice cream and other dairy products. As a treat she took the son who is not intolerant to Dairy Queen to get him a cone. She told my wife that the boy was so excited about getting ice cream that he shit in his pants. It's not going to end well for that kid.

That doesn't matter. That isn't the point and of course these are two different things. The point is the Mom is a vegetarian and she is forcing that upon her kid. Like I said, A toddler is not going to make a choice to live as a vegetarian, just like a kindergartener is not able to make a life choice to live as the opposite gender.

A toddler doesn't make a choice to eat meat either. They eat what the parent gives.

My grandma got us one of those for my oldest daughter. She loved the idea of a monkey backpack (what we told her it was), and we never hooked the leash onto it.

Now she found the leash, and tries to attach it to her sister...

Our neighbors put their two year old on a leash the other day. I felt bad for the kid.

I don't get it.

My 2 year old is pretty chill, though...she doesn't try and run...when we are at the store, she likes to help and she sticks with us, if she's not holding one of our hands in the first place...

He's only 18 months but he is really good at walking. He'll walk/run for 30-60 minutes straight without getting tired. In public, we have to hold his hand constantly so we are going to see if he likes this better. We won't use it in open spaces but walking downtown is tough.
