You know how bad it looks when the paper publishes story after story and editorial after editorial about how Trump is finished because of Russia, only to have their lead reporter on the Moscow candidly shrug and say "yea I dunno if anything is some low level people manipulating each other". Why isn't that viewpoint ever shared in print? Why does it take a secret recording in a bar to hear what reporters think of a story. It's not like he doesn't work for a company that literally gives him a voice on this exact topic.

If anything it makes Washington Post reporters look even scummier. Them having the nerve to claim "democracy dies in darkness" on their masthead while their senior Russian reporter clearly has a different opinion than what is printed just shows an outright contempt for the public.
