I think I’ve heard the 1st half of that thought in other arguments recently...hmm. What was it

Probably a moronic thought in an anti gun post.

Mine is sort of tongue-in-cheek.

I still loathe Trump, but what is this? Turn on any cable network, except for one, at any time of day, and they're frothing at the mouth over shit that has absolutely no bearing on what is going on. He is a vapid egomaniac, but that is not a valid reason for this shit. And the actual bad part is that some state Congress somewhere probably just passed legislation to allow putting rat poison in the water, but no one even hears about it.

Well we will ignore the fact that the indictments and guilty pleas make the last part garbage, but what I would like to know does this mean that to you the outlier is the truth? That if everybody except one person is saying something they are all wrong and the lone wolf is right?

Please remember this is the Pizzagate network you are referring to when yourespond.

Do you actually engage folks irl like some unjustifiably smug faux know-it-all 11th grader that's compensating for his parents not loving him enough and thus also his own self-loathing? Because that's the only reason I can think of that you can't have a conversation with people that take umbrage with even the most incidental points you offer.

The one person I still see on rare occasion who acts like the right wing brigade does on here? Absofuckinglutely.

I also think that if you are choosing Juicy's impartiality, or for that matter that Leash didn't chime in with agreement just to be a smarmy asshole since I was involved, as a hill to die on you are making a poor decision.

I'm starting to think some sort of hostage is behind the account, and the only way they can escape is to post on the internet in a manner that is likely to get the police to track down the I.P. address.

A simple 'no' would have sufficed.

I agree with you. I already have Trump fatigue on getting him out of office, and I wouldn't mind him being out of office.

The Democrats were stupid to #RESIST from day one. I want Trump to not be President but I certainly don't want them to take over.

It would be interesting if Bernie were President if we'd be looking into how he begged poor people to donate $10 instead of eat for a day and then bought a third house on a lake right after he declared he wasn't a Democrat any more.

It reminds me of a simpler time when you, JORR, Curious Hair, and Tall Midget were all politically aligned.

That is kind of weird, isn't it?

Maybe President Trump is forcing us all to challenge our assumptions and become better people.

"muh leader is a great man"

The most famous lawyer in North America, who is above all reproach, Allan Deshowitz says The Duck got jobbed by Herr Mueller. (Read his book, “Trumped Up: How Criminalization of Political Differences Endangers Democracy.”)

(I thought McNitwit said he was faking it here. Seems dubious, eh? He really is crazy. Let's pray for him)

More than envision, heck, they promoted and participated in the non-stop slinging of mud at political opponents; to an extent and with a ferocity that makes the current political reporting climate appear fairly civil in comparison.

Quote:
The newspaper wars of the 1790s, in which Callender enlisted, were ferocious. “The golden age of America’s founding was also the gutter age of American reporting,” writes historian Eric Burns. Papers were partisan, not impartial. Editors attacked each other in the street, cursing each other with prolixity and backward-running sentences. They seemed to have the typesetting equivalent of unlimited minutes when it came to using insulting synonyms found in the thesaurus. Their enemies were “depraved,” “worthless,” “vile,” “intemperate,” and “wicked.” Accusations of drunkenness were frequent (and accurate) as were charges of corruption and debauchery.

Thomas Jefferson testified to the ugliness of the trade when he described what he looked for in a good editor. He lamented that such a person would have to:
Quote:
set his face against the demoralising practice of feeding the public mind habitually on slander, & the depravity of taste. ... Defamation is becoming a necessary of life; insomuch, that a dish of tea in the morning or evening cannot be digested without this stimulant. Even those who do not believe these abominations, still read them with complaisance ... [and] betray a secret pleasure in the possibility that some may believe them, tho they do not themselves.

This sounds just as high-minded as we’d expect from the author of the Declaration of Independence, but it’s blarney. Jefferson was fine with slander, feeding the public need for low entertainment and fact- free denunciations just as long as they were aimed at his rivals. He had no problem supporting or arranging to support newspapers that did just that.

Like today, in the age of our founders one person’s depravity and slander was another person’s fact. What Jefferson would have roared about, his rival Alexander Hamilton would have applauded as plain truth. Each side in the debates of the early republic thought they were the hero in the morality play of the infant republic.
