Congrats?

Thanks. It is a good thing. He is a good guy who has a good job and a lot going for him. Just crazy how fast time goes. Just yesterday I was dropping her off at Kindergarten...

Her fiance's name isn't Chas, is it?

Just kidding.

Congratulations, RFDC!

Got my 15 year work anniversary coming up and so I just received my invite to pick something out of this catalog to commemorate it. There is some ok stuff in there I guess but I have most everything they are offering. For my 10yr I got a new suitcase which has come in handy and I use it every year travelling for work. Watches, coffee makers, steak knives, etc... I appreciate it but sometimes I wish they would just cut me a check or give me a couple extra vacation days. They do offer $150 gift card to buy merchandise from where I work but even with my discount $150 won't get you very far.

I'm glad your wife picked a dumb gift that you didn't like.

I never said it was dumb.
I never said I didn't like it.
No, you're not glad she picked it. You don't care one way or the other.
No, you're not getting to me, though you seem to be trying for some strange reason.
Slow news day, I guess....

Is this a verse from that terrible song you like?

You listened to it intently enough to describe it as "That song sucks" so you tell me if those are the lyrics.

That's true. Those lyrics would have been better.

Yeah I saw the vacuum but have that one covered already. There really aren't a lot of other things to choose from that are either fun or more likely practical.

Well, we needed a new one anyway. It came with a company logo pin.
I think she threw that away...

How about an ice cream maker for your step son?

I've never worked for a big company, is this a common thing? To pick something out of a catalog? That seems really weird to me.

It's a common thing for a major manufacturer to hand out company samples in lieu of real benefits, like raises or bonuses...

 Not bad Frank, but if I brought in an ice cream maker how would I deprive him of ice cream? I guess I could get one and then just not buy any ingredients to make the ice cream but then that hurts my feelings. :eye:

Gillette went to far with this latest Gillette Venus ad shit.

I switched to Harry's back in September before Gillette went gay.

Good razor. Shaves just fine. Long lasting blade.

My dad passed away in 2010. My mom has since moved, and my brother who handled most of the funeral logistics, has also since passed away. (I know this sounds like a terrible “Brag About….” but stick with me.)

I get a message today on the restaurant website, of all places, from the funeral home. “This is so-and-so from so-and-so funeral home. Can someone from the Telegram Sam family please contact me.”

My dad’s union had contacted the funeral home. It turns out they were on the hook for his funeral expenses. We just paid for everything at the time. They sent a really nice flower arrangement, but nobody gave it much thought or looked up any paperwork beyond that.

I called my brother who handles my mom’s affairs, he got in touch with the union, and now my mom has a reimbursement check coming for my dad’s funeral from 9 years ago.

I'd be an even better brag if they included interest.

I beat a guy with one eye in 1 on 1 at the gym this morning. I hadn't played in years, so I'm still considering it a big win.

Poking him in the eye is taking cheating too far.
