That ambulance chaser Shakes has no motive other than to make money. Our customer, the small airline known as United, asked people to leave their property. The monetary ramifications are null at this point: Mr. Asian Doctor refused to leave United's property. He is now a trespasser, and the duty owed by aUnited is merely not to injure him unnecessarily unless he presents a physical threat. They handled this perfectly. We offer you zero dollars.

A question of logistics here...
If he checked his bags how and the throwers likely got the plane already how would they have retrieved his luggage?
Or would it just be spinning in claim until someone from homeland security scooped it?

800$ and a free hotel room would be enough for me not to care about my bags. I actually left an airport once without picking up a bag (one too many on board cocktails). I came back about eight hours later and it was in an office for the airline I flew waiting for me.

Please stop saying the guy got $800.

He got 800 units of United credit to be used in a year.

Fuck United.

I just skimmed the previous 6 pages so I must have missed that. The news I read just stated 800 dollars. If it was company credit then yes fuck United.

We know if he was black the cops would have shot him dead right away and then asked questions later. They would have said they thought the seat belt was a gun.

To make things worse, United's CEO sent this statement to his employees. Tone deaf doesn't even begin to describe this.

https://twitter.com/BraddJaffy/status/8 ... 1188179968

They are still holding to the "denied boarding" bullshit. Ummm he was on the plane so pretty certain he wasn't denied boarding. If you're going to bump a passenger, do it at the fucking gate before you scan their boarding pass. I guarantee he (or any other passenger) reacts differently then

WRONG.

Southwest was the most likely to force an involuntary bump, at 1 out of every 10,000 passengers, a rate that’s almost no improvement from its level in 2010.

Wait a minute. That video of him saying 'I have to go home' running down the aisle was after they had smashed his face up and dragged him off the plane.

I can't blame him for acting strange after that.

He should reimburse United for the time they spent wiping his blood off the seats and floor.

This situation is so odd that there has to be something else going on with this guy that hasn't been reported.

I'm not going as far as Hank on this, but the guy did act like a child when it became obvious they weren't going to let him fly. He's a fucking doctor. He should have gotten off the plane and called his lawyer if he wanted to make a statement. Making his body limp and screaming like a banshee didn't really help anyone.

Compared to your buddy who refuses to pull forward at a drive thru?

So, let me get this straight:

1) United Airlines overbooked a flight. United crew members needed to get on the flight.

2) They asked for volunteers to switch flights, offering vouchers to anyone willing.

3) Suddenly, airline police are called to focus specifically on one guy.

4) Dude refuses to leave, is forcibly removed, and fakes getting knocked unconscious due to an armrest.

Am I missing anything?

 BRick analogy! That's hardly the same situation. And I think he would pull up before the CPD tow truck hitched his car up and pulled it forward involuntarily.

To me, that's the crucial component. How do they decide who gets removed? If it's the last person who booked it's still not great but at least there's some sense of fairness to it.

Getting pulled off an airplane because they want to give your seat to an employee is much worse than asking someone to move up in a line so things go faster for everyone.

THEN, completely "at random" and totally coincidental, this Asian dude starts acting like a lunatic. Something isn't adding up here.

What are you getting at?

He acted like a lunatic when he was dragged off an airplane after his head was put into an arm rest.

Well, I wouldn't want to get off the flight either. But at some point I'm gonna get up and angrily walk out rather than have cops drag me off. But now that I really think about it, he may have actually achieved his goal.
