Just some spooked white folks who think they're in danger.
Actually, it seems to me that it's others who think they are in danger from white men. I haven't read anything that says "Chinese women are the problem!" or "Black men are the problem." Apparently you and I are the problem. Or maybe you're not old enough to be the problem yet. You'll get there, God willing.
You have never heard that black men are the problem? Which planet are you from again?
A planet where anyone in any "respectable" medium who dared utter such a thing would be immediately fired and shamed.
Huh? I don't even have to go political to point out how laughably wrong you are. Mary Mitchell has made a career of this since her ex husband smartly got the hell away from her.
What? I read every Mary Mitchell column. Believe me, "black men are the problem" is not a theme.
And anyway, I'm not talking about complaints from black woman that brothers date white girls, etc. The conversation is about the constant drumbeat that white men are responsible for all of society's ills and that's an acceptable mainstream position.
I don't want to turn this into a bigger political thread than it already has been, so after this post, I won't continue this discussion outside of the politics section.
You're reading Mary Mitchell wrong, and I have been pointing out her tendency to blame everything on black men/boys here since 2005.
I'm not sure where you've been, but black men/boys still have to prove they're not the boogeyman to MANY. If you put up a photo of a generic black man/boy or woman/girl and asked everyone in America what word comes to mind to describe them, I am confident the majority of the time that word will be negative. Do the same with someone whites and rhe majority of the time that word will be positive. There is a reason for that. In addition to that, you have the power to change anything you want in this country at any time. As someone who represents 6% of the population it takes more time, compromise and coalition building to get results.
