This is why we don't get those videos out of Dixie Alley that you get throughout the plains. Hills, trees, and rain make it damn difficult to spot one until it is right on top of you. A lot of chasers avoid this region for this reason. Reed Timmer chases in Dixie Alley, but he doesn't exactly like it. If ever followed his stuff, he refers to Alabama as "Vietnam"

"Violent tornadoes" are not just a random description of tornadoes. When the SPC uses that phrasing they mean only one thing, EF4+ monsters.
