I envision JORR as the "sleeper" biker, like a hot rod station wagon. He's wearing Rustler dad jeans and a ratty hoody, riding a 1970's Sears bike that has $5K in billet upgrades, but shows of a little rust on old chrome rims, shod with Reynolds RZR tires. He has just added the carbon fiber water bottle holder.

You think Joe shaves his legs?

I started teaching my third-grader how to play the alto saxophone a few months ago (TM is an old sax player himself), and the kid has really taken to it. He's been practicing like a maniac and I've had to put him in private lessons because he's advancing so quickly. Every day he's noticeably better than the previous day, and he's starting to get a really nice sound out of his instrument. It's cool to see your kids improve at something challenging like that.

You have a third-grader?

It will be interesting to see TM deal with someone who is better at everything than he is.

Congrats to TM Jr.

Dr. Ken Jr. II qualified for two state separate academic competitions that happen at the same time to go to State two hours (in distance) apart.

So he has to make a choice and I disagree with his choice but how do you tell him not to - he earned it.

I'm guessing the schedulers on these things would not qualify for these same competitions.

Is he the III then? Wouldn't it be the II or Jr not both?

I've always referred to the Children as -

Dr. Ken Jr. I
Dr. Ken Jr. II
and
Dr. Ken Jr. III

Dr. Ken Jr. II is in the process of looking at colleges.

Dr. Ken The Original in the process of going broke.

I have black kids looking to get adopted. They're not from Africa though. Don't let that dissuade you.

I won $20 at a casino this weekend.

Also ended up with a free Coke at McDonalds as the worker mistakenly gave us an extra cup.

I've only been a father for 18mos, but I can agree with this. AJ is both the best and/or worst thing in our house at any given time.

Not sure if I'm interpreting this correctly, but BigW72 Jr I is in the process of going nowhere after trying to make me broke

I have more confidence in BigW72 Jr II. That kid seems to get it. Start college shopping next year.

For as much as I've always been a musician, neither of my kids really got it. BigW72 Jr I did stay in band through HS, but never really wanted to play an instrument on his own. II is much more involved in band, but plays the Euphonium and Trombone. Neither of them wanted anything to do with a guitar or drums....sad.

my daughter won the local pinewood derby contest. its not cub scouts but part of a group with some churches around the area.

anyhoo. we've participated for a good number of years and have come close in speed but ultimately my children have always wanted odd shaped vehicles and I worked with what I worked with. She designed the car (some minecraft character) and helped shape the wheels polish axles and help determine where weight should go.

it beat out the 2nd place car by 4/1000ths of a second.

It’s been several years ago now but my daughter also did her car like a Minecraft character (Steve?). We did ok but didn’t win though.

i talked with guys who spent hours on their vehicles with or without their kids. there are usually about 70 cars in it.

we do computer work for an older gentleman that a while back had a huge track set up and would travel around to troops doing their races. he said that 4 key things is set most of your weight 1 inch in front of the back axle, canter the back wheels, have one front wheel not touch the ground and the other front wheel set up so that the car drift about 1" every 60" so it will ride the raile and not go back and forth.

we did that along with polishing the axles like a mother and the thing was unstoppable.

My son just got word he was awarded a four year tuition scholarship at Loyola of New Orleans. It isn't where he really wants to go and we still would have to pay room and board. At the very least it is a nice negotiating tool with some other schools.

This is a good problem for your family to have though. Nice work!
