Jeez, now they are talking about Troy Grove. 40 people live there. But my niece and her family do.

That's smaller than Paw Paw.

Paw Paw is about the size of 2 decent-sized farms put together.

They do have a 9-hole course. I don't recommend it.

My ancestors settled Paw Paw, like first group of people there. They didn't stick around. I never knew this until we moved out here and my wife did some genealogy crap. MY visit to Paw Paw was breath taking.

Pretty much every drop of rain and gust if wind has split this farm area today about 6 miles to the north or 12 to the south. Have had tornado warning and such (Headed towards Mendota Doc, hopefully the golf course there will be safe) but nothing within 15 miles of here. Rain would of been nice, glad we didn't get storms.

I've been texting my brother in Mendota all afternoon as we watch Cheryl.

Nothing happened there.

My Damn BCR alerts was wrong? Impossible.. It was Walnut heading towards Ohio around 6:30.. Maybe it veered north or south,

Going to get Tommy excited mentioning all these small towns. I think there is a statue in Troy Grove or something. Wild Bill Hickok. Don't know the connection.

Cheryl just said it was going to go over Prairie Center.

My farm was 2 miles north of Prairie Center. It isn't a town. It's a guy's house. An abandoned bar (and this was 1988). An old garage (1988) and one guy's farm.

It's an intersection. It's not a real place.

This is hilarious.

As if an urbane gentleman like myself has heard of 3/4ths of the places mentioned in the last few pages.

But I hope they're safe.

In fairness sometimes on those weather maps when they zoom in they just say the town or whatever that shows up on the map. I've seen it in the south suburbs here where they talk about a place that a storm has hit and it's just a park or like an unincorporated mobile home Community or something like that.

If you look at Google Maps, especially in rural areas, sometimes it does the same thing.

I had never heard of the Paw Paw over there- all these years of Orion Samuelson and Tom Skilling you'd think they would have mentioned it once or twice.

We have a Paw Paw over here, as well, east towards Kalamazoo; it is approximately the edge of the Lake Effect, thus the end of tree fruits and some vegetable farming. It also gets the brunt of the LE snow storms that result in the huge multi-vehicle crashes early in the Winters on I-94.

The rural maps are a collection of non existent towns out here like Thomas or Langley. One being a collection of houses but that's about it and one being the location of the Pyscho Silo and an old rail stop from 80 years ago. Even the local weather guys will show them from time to time and they don't know any better either.

As an aside, I see Praire center is on 52. I've driven through it but can't recall it so it must be a thriving community.

If you are heading east, once you get about 3,000 ft out of town there's a lonely church on your left.

It is a burnt out husk like the one in Elmira. I've been driving by that church since 2004 or so and I can't believe that old building is still standing. I know, I know, you've never been to Elmira (Who in their right mind would go to Elmira unless they were heading to Jackson Sales and who would go there). I'm just saying it once was a pretty church but I can't believe someone hasn't burned it to the ground yet.

I think the church is still there. Unless today’s tornado did it in.

It would make a great movie setting.

If you build it, they will pray.

Phone is still lighting up with warnings for the eastern part of the county. I think I'm going to ignore them unless it's for Henry.

The Churches and some of the houses built from around 1910-1930 are really nice buildings out here. The country ones are mostly falling down and the city ones are reminiscent of the Money Pit but there was a time they built some nice stuff out here.

Prairie Center, IL.

The bar is gone. It used to be over there on the left. It was the size of half of a garage. My Dad used to bring me in there when I was 5 or so.

Another tornado warning in Wilmington County that has a pretty scary looking hook echo on the radar

No, it is a dice game that bars in Wisconsin have, I see you guys in Illinois aren't sophisticated enough to have it.

I vaguely remember something like that. Might have done it once.

Maybe at the Knotty Pine.

This red dress chick is built like a 12 year old. Ruffcorn probably is unsure with her.

JORR thoughts?

Key is to win it during Happy Hour when drafts are a $1.50, bottles are $2.00 and cocktails are $3.00.
