In a car with the world's oldest Uber driver. The guy is afraid to take the expressway.

A big shooter like you should have ponied up the $160 for the stretch limousine.

I cracked a rib just through the strain of trying to break one of those floating floor pieces that you score with a utility knife.

In my defense, it was a very thin strip without much leverage to break it but it still makes me feel like an incredibly old person.

Someone, just now, tried to make a case that Huey Lewis' style/sound was considerably more than nominally influenced by David Lee Roth. The song 'Panama' was cited as the example.

Somewhere, Someguy just died a bit. Hopefully, it'll be more than a bit for me soon.

Had to mess with 4 clothes dryers today. Tried to replace our broken dryer with a free one from my MIL, except it didn't fit (who knew there are 27" and 29" models. They looked the same  ). Swapped it for another from neighbor...it nearly burned our house down. Finally did what I should have in the 1st place and bought a new one. I wasted most of Sunday but the wife is happy, so there's that.

As anybody who has been driving southbound on the North Side over the past 3 days will attest, all of the lights in the traffic signals are covered with snow. You have to look on the edges of the light housing to which one is lit. I understand the logisical impossibility of clearing these, and they will hopefully melt tomorrow when it warms up. I saw an accident at Oakton and Crawford today, that, based on where everyone ended up, could easily have happened due to someone blowing the red light, or going on a left only arrow, southbound on Crawford.

I recall reading about this problem a few years back (I think there are less than 10 traffic lights in this county and only one outside of the two “major” towns ). This happened with the switch to energy efficient lights. The old ones generated enough heat to melt the snow apparently.

Was just talking about that. Must be the cooler led bulbs not getting warm enough to melt the snow...and it is just the north facing lights.

It was also interesting to see snow on only the north/north east of every telephone pole and tree. Especially with the storm coming from the south west.

That is exactly what it is. Not enough heat in the LED bulbs.

My dad finally succumbed to his cancer this afternoon. Hard to be there and watch but happy that he no longer has to suffer. Special thanks to those of you I’ve had pm conversations with about his condition. He is in a better place and it is comforting to know he and my younger brother are together again.
