Clinton Signaling Lester Holt during the debate...

possibly signaling that she thinks Donny T's yay'd up; or that she wants Huma to steal 3rd.

re: even IF Clinton engaged in any shenanigans during the debate (and i don't think that's the case) what's any of that have to do with Donald being a dumpster fire during the majority of the debate? No one on Clinton's team made Trump clumsily repeat catch-phrases that he apparently tried to memorize and failed. No one to blame but Trump (and his team) for Trump getting so far in the weeds with his answers on his tax and business dealing issues, Hillary looked like she was ready to whip out her hammer-cracked blackberry and start sexting with Huma mid-debate. And no one forced Trump to bitch-up and whine about Clinton being mean to him during the debate. ffs, wash the sand out of your vajajay, Donny. Cowboy up--you're running for President of the United States, not head of the glee club.

complaining about Clinton's 3rd base coach signals or anything else w/r/t that debate without acknowledging Trump stunk up the joint on his own is like when wikileaks dropped those DNC emails in which the DNC staff were throwing around jew and talking about using media members to crush Bernie--and the Democrats whined "where did they get these emails?" when it was the content of the emails and not what 400lb russian hacker delivered them to Assange that mattered.

No amount whining about the umps changes the fact that Trump's performance in the debate was not worthy of being a Presidential candidate, much less the actual POTUS.

Trump did not perform well in the debate. He won the first 30 minutes. Then he got on the defensive as soon as she brought up his career. He needs to push the ball up the court the entire time, it will work.

yeah, i've read/heard that said, that Trump started off ok. I didn't see the first ~20 mins. So what I saw was Hillary looking confident and in control and Trump fumbling, bumbling his way through too lengthy dissertations about his taxes or how it's cool to screw contractors cuz it's the Am-Way etc.

Heck, if Hillary was making Lester Holt her bitch while smacking Trump around and throwing signals to her team, maybe she really is more than qualified to be POTUS and take on Putin et al

I have read that the first half hour is the most important as people will often tune out, literally and/or figuratively. I wouldn't even say that Trump "won" the first twenty minutes. He did hammer her on trade and he said regarding the TPP, "You know if you're elected you're gonna sign it" and she didn't deny that. But he seemed incapable of making a focused argument.

I'm sure the irony of that is lost on the Trump voter.

Trump easily won the whole debate. It's going to be hard not to vote for him.

I think the first half hour is a good example of what his expectations were. Whether it was fair to Clinton or not, the question was whether he would get shelled on complex policy issues. For the first half hour, he was able to be on the offensive, even if he wasn't being specific about anything. Let's be honest... saying you're going to re-negotiate trade deals is a nearly meaningless statement without specifics... but it will play well with most because some of our trade deals are terrible. I was more surprised than anything at how prepared and coherent he seemed (vs. my expectations), and I'm sure that's how MANY felt. The fact that he only fell off the wagon during the last half hour is probably a victory for him.

I think the format of the next debate in 11 days is a town-hall and having more people around to riff off of seems to help Trump. Also, the town-halls are based on questions from the audience or facebook or wherever; and are usually some form of 'I need a job, I need health care, I need good schools for my kids and to feel safe in my home/while driving to the grocery store/watching Batman at a theater' variety rather than the personal vetting of the candidate questions this first debate spent a good chunk of time focused on.

fwiw, Trump didn't have to spend so much time badly defending his unreleased tax returns or his shady business practices. Mike Huckaby was expert at taking whatever question was asked and responding with a chunk of his campaign stump speech about whatever topics he wanted to emphasize; something like "Lester, I don't think the American family sitting at their kitchen table trying to find the money for next week's groceries give two shakes of a dog's dick about all that tax return business, they wanna know how I'm going to Make America Love Greta Again and here's how"

but, as his twitter timeline attests, Trump's unable to Image off even the slightest negative thing said about him and move on without over-responding.

He didn't defend them. He bragged about them.

This may have suggested above, if so I apologi, but can we finally just call him what he always has appeared to be: a whiny, petulant little wannabe bully scared of any pushback, much less a fight. I don't even think he nor any of his children/surrogates appear to be that bright, despite what their legacy and donor class admissions/diplomas attempt to suggest. The guy is the walking embodiment of the Wizard of Oz, wet pants and all.

The notion of that clown and his MANY supporters crying about (un)fairness may be the most laughable thing I've heard in my lifetime. The man is nothing more than a yapping little toy dog, loud, obnoxious, irritating but "tough" when there's no possibility of his own little harm. A bitch if you ask me. A limp-wristed chicken hawk as befitting his supporters.

Kelly Anne Conway would be impressed, not a word about Hillary in a thread about Trump, but you brought her up anyway.

She answers what she wants to answer and always pivots to a Clinton attack. It's a beautiful thing to watch.

So more concern about a businessman who is annoying and obnoxious, probably shady on some business tactics for personal gain, instead of an elected civil servant who's actions did not help to stop the deaths of 4 US citizens in Benghazi, allowed confidential information to be left in hotel rooms and hacked via unsecure servers maintained in her home, who covered up actions on said server by tactics used to erase data and having her IT network plead the 5th in court, who has been proven via evidence been party to rigged primaries, and who just called all american implicit racists.

I'll take the lesser of 2 evils.

Why do you think billionaires have out donated to Hillary's campaign in numbers 20 to 1. You think because it's they care about the middle class?

The argument by Trump supporters appears to be that he should be allowed to screw over people as an elected official simply because he has yet to screw over people as an elected official.
