As Chris Matthews picked up on (though he doesn't know what an indefinite article is, mistaking it for a pronoun), there was one similarity between something Trump said in his speech today and the Nazis.

Trump said, "We share one heart, one home, and one glorious destiny."

The use of the word "one" three times mirrors the Nazi slogan, "Ein Volk, Ein Reich, Ein Führer."

The sentences are inter-changeable, if you substitute destiny for "leader", but the meaning is similar anyway. Trump is saying he is the destined leader.

You get the point.

I always thought John Wilkes Booth's plan was dumb. He wanted to kill President Lincoln, Vice President Johnson (1st in line), and Secretary of State Seward (4th in line). At that time, President pro tempore was 2nd in line and the Speaker of the House was 3rd. Lafayette Foster, a senator from Connecticut, would have become president if the plan was successful. If I'm Booth and I wanted to destroy the government, send it into disarray, and steel the nerve of the south to re-rise, why not let Johnson live and instead kill Lincoln, General Ulysses Grant, and Secretary of War Edwin Stanton?

2 side notes:

Edwin Stanton was a weird dude. He kept the remains of his dead daughter in a box and kept it at his bedside for more than a year.

The first presidential dance is awkward and stupid.
