Very few things are better then that.

I took a piss on public grounds a couple weeks ago.

It was near Grace & Racine. Was late night so nobody saw me.

a few weeks back I resigned from old position and took a new position at a new firm. I went from a slow/no growth company where profit was the only thing that mattered to a startup/lets grow grow grow much larger environment.

I work from home, make more money, and I believe I wont' feel like i'm in a VW beetle towing a tractor trailer up hill.

Its in the law firm management software field so a few of you can expect cold solicitations in your PM boxes shortly.

I got a chance to go out and help with harvest at my Buddy's farm today. I ran their new grain cart while his son opened up a corn field, then he had me do the rest of the combining. We finished 38 acres this afternoon, then switched to the soybean header. There was about 8 acres left in an adjacent field that had been planted as buffer space around seed corn rows, they were expecting 3-400 bushels. I operated the combine and 35 foot header and picked just shy of 1000 bushels.

On the down side, the tractor pulling the grain cart suffered a computer failure controlling the transmission. We had to have a dealer tech come out to get it off the road. It moves right now, but will need to be split for complete repairs.

Back at it tomorrow, hopefully I can knock the rust off my semi driving skills.

Looking forward to spending the next two days in Chicago. Doing the Van Gogh immersive thing this afternoon, dinner at our favorite steakhouse, tomorrow doing breakfast and spending some time at the Art Institute.

went to casino in Hammond.

Broke even.

Why am i bragging about it?

Because I was down $140. It was late, time to go home, cut my losses, was depressed.

Somehow I played one more, won, and somehow kept going, turned the corner and recovered all my losses.

Once I got back to break even, I bolted.

Live to fight another day.

My oldest daughter is expecting her first child. Her husband was born with a heart defect that caused him lots of issues and several surgeries as a kid. They were not certain whether this was a genetic issue that could be passed on to their children. So the doctor was very interested in seeing pictures of the babies heart. They had an ultrasound today and got lots of good views of the heart and my granddaughters heart looks completely healthy.

Congrats Ralph and I knew someone in your family had to have a heart because you damn sure don't have one.

Mrs Post and I just had an offer accepted on a place out west. Still the typical hurdles to jump to close on residential property, but we are pretty excited.

We are both looking forward to having a place we can use and share with our family and friends to enjoy and make memories at for a long time. Really excited to get the Post kids out there and spend some great times with them and hopefully create a place for them that they can enjoy with us and when we are gone.

Not really bragging but I found some information online that indicates that my grandfather received a Purple Heart for his service in WWII. He was one of two guys from his platoon to survive after some brutal fighting in Okinawa. Apparently he was found injured and wandering around on his own. Understandably he never talked about the war when he came home. My mom nor my uncle had any idea he was awarded one as they never saw or heard about it. With some help from my uncle I am going to try to ask the military for a replacement so that we can make a nice memorial for him to keep in the family. I suspect a lot of red tape but hopefully in the process I can learn more about his service and find out if he earned this medal.

I think about it often. Having lost my dad and brother now, I'd just really like to try to be able to honor him in some way and keep it in our family. My mom didn't seem to have any interest but that is a whole other story. Hopefully my uncle can get me some of the info I need to put in a request.

Our grandson won the freshman cross country championship yesterday by almost 20 seconds.

His time would have placed him in the top five of the JV championship as well.
