Some disliked him because he had strong and unbending opinions but he always researched them thoroughly. He was a kid when he started posting here (not an IMU 30 year old kid but a teenager) and I don't think people accounted for that immaturity when reading his posts. He's a good guy

IB and BigFan had beef on his way out. IB took him to task in a post (Ugie was doing same thing at the time) and good dolphn chided both of them for not recognizing that BF had provided both of them with a nice space to start their respective writing careers.

dolphin was careful to point out that he likes both guys though and was pretty much always IB's #1 and defended Ugie from accusations of bigotry. So dolphin certainly didnt celebrate it.

I dont think many were happy to see IB go. Scorehead probably was (and his mult Terry's guy who accused IB of plagiarism) and I think JORR and he were in a feud at the time (but not celebrate that IB is leaving the board type stuff)

So basically, no one who matters celebrated it.

That's what it sounds like. IB and Ugie are really great guys in person. Though IB has that whole dead deer and dry-fingering thing...

There was to be a collective effort for the Football season between Donspiracy, IB and myself for a contest. I wasnt really going to do anything, just wanted to have 1 ongoing contest instead of IB starting his own, then Don, then maybe CHUS, etc. Just like one "OFFICIAL" contest for such events. Dont need someone else ruining Dr. Kens NASCAR deal, etc. THEY BOTH AGREED.

Donspiracy (Bless his soul) put some effort into it. We went over it at the eclectic bar in Bucktown that Frank, Darko, Doug played at....Irish Boy didnt attend. Wasnt like I am looking for a documented program, just a simple contest , so we didnt have 5 different football contests with 6 people in each. My preference is to have one contest of 30 people. IB of course chose then to run his own contest and I said NO. Simple process, he agreed to be part of running 1 football contest. Chose to not be involved in the planning, then went to try and run his own. I said NO...and he threw a shit fit. I am sure the lawer will have a different version, but that was it.

BigMan, did you include a clause that allowed you to run your usual season stuff? Who's in charge of the Sock/Cub wagers?

he ran a pool I was in an didn't update standings for 3 to 4 weeks...I called him on it and said I was wrong ( no evidence... lawyer my ass) and kicked me out of the pool....the NERVE .Then he posted shit about having to much school in my book he's jagoff

I dont think anyone was even discussing why he left, it was just whether it was celebrated.

That is a sucky situation, but 6 years ago? If either party refuses to simply let it be water under the bridge at this point, then shame on them.

Did IB really think he would not be welcomed back? IMO, there are 3, maybe 4 posters who would not be welcomed back with open arms. I would not put IB in that category.
