That's what we did yesterday, had some friends + kids over...filled up the inflatable pool thing and let them run wild while we enjoyed beverages the soulful tunes of Hall and Oates. And Van Halen.

We would later have a wife swap.

Went to the Cubs game. Gave our extra ticket to a navy kid outside the park.

I spent many early morning hours watching children earn 1/8 of a scholarship to a university they otherwise wouldn't have known existed.

I spent five hours cleaning out my garage to the point of exhaustion. I did get to swing a sledge hammer and break shit. I didn't blow shit up but the 4th is not far away.

I went on a run. It felt good. I then had a couple of beers with people drawn together by the commonality of school attendance.

I marched with cub scouts in the Rosehill Memorial Day parade. That was kind of fun. It is Illinois' largest civil war burial ground. They had cannons and civil war regiments. Some woman passed out.

I then went north of the border for a Brewers v. Cardinals game. Miller Park is an incredibly enjoyable time. It is also dirt cheap. Decent bleacher seats were $14. Hot dogs and drinks were $1. Parking was $14. I got out of there at under $100 for the entire family. I don't know if you can beat that even with a local minor league team.

I blew out a tire on the way home. I was ready to be a manly man and change the tire on the side of the expressway. My wife yelled at me that I would get killed and that I had obligations. By the time we were done the Minute Man had already arrived and changed it in a few minutes flat.

Fin.

Well, I see what some people did, they spent the day here telling me about their fulfilling lives. Good for them.
