Diversity is basically a synonym for multiculturalism. The left thinks that's great, but history has not shown that multiculturalism works in a society over a long period of time. Europe is going to be destroyed by multiculturalism. Having a similar language and shared values is more important than having different types of people for the sake of having different types of people. It is in fact damaging to American society if people who do not share the values of America are embraced as Americans without requiring any sort of assimilation. Radical Muslims exploiting the American immigration is essentially a Trojan horse within the country.

But that gets into what we mean by "diversity". You'd have to be a real asshole to want everyone to have the same skin color as you, eat the same food as you, pray to the same god as you. But I don't think it's evil to not want people who think blacks should use separate restrooms, who think women are the property of men, etc. Should we accept those people and their ideas for the sake of "diversity"?

Diversity requires assimilation. That is where you are off.
