In January, I stepped off a bus and into the Westminster underground station across the street from where the SUV came to a stop. I'm going to be back in London in April, and I'm sure my family is not going to be happy about it. But I figure I'm in NYC and DC probably 6x/year each, downtown LA 4x/year, and work in downtown Chicago. There are plenty of other places to try and run me over.

Not really. Something like 70% of the casualties from Pickett's charge were from Union artillery, and that shit has gotten about a million times deadlier/more accurate since the ACW. Not to mention airplanes and missiles being introduced with pretty devastating effect.

There really is no way to prove this, but I'm fairly certain indirect fire has contributed to more people meeting a violent end than small arms since about the time of the Napoleonic wars.

I also do not have the stats but I am going to say indirect fire has a higher completion percentage.

Also, its important to note that firearms are not necessarily an efficient way of killing people. Baseline odds of surviving a gunshot with first world trauma care are about 90%.

If facing a bunker full of heavily armed enemies I would have much rather successfully lobbed a grenade or used a 203 to eliminate them than try to pick them off one by one.

This is a terrible post. The first sentence is unequivocally wrong and the second sentence is HIGHLY variable on where you got shot. Talk about banning guns annoys me too but you can do better for our side of the argument.

Or what you're getting shot with. But facts are facts, at least 80% of people who are admitted into ER's with gunshot wounds survive. If you make it to the hospital and you haven't been hit in the leg, heart, neck or head you've pretty much made it. Even if you are hit in those places your odds aren't as bad as you think.
