The chosen candidate of the don't-gaslight-my-safe-space crowd was a woman who said there would never be health care for all. And that's the far left? Give me a break.

As long as there are a couple of black people and women on the corporate board everything is great.

I watch Dr. Ken because I think Ken Jeong is pretty funny but he has a gay nurse and a lot of times, him and his gay lover are focused on in most of the 22 minute story. I think "Modern Family" gets it right. Two funny guys who happen to be Gay not trying to force it the other way around. I saw this in the early 70's on TV. Suddenly more black actors popping up which was fine but they were all the same guy. Smarter and more outspoken than their white counterparts in comedies. Now it's the Gay's that are more clever in shows than anybody else. Hollywood bias.

I agree with CH. Comic books and especially comic book movies are mostly trash. It is really just an example of an industry that felt forced by social media and blog media to embrace diversity, and now is confronted with slumping sales that they think are a result of mandated diversity quotas.

Its very difficult to articulate the dynamic I am beginning to feel is at work. Its similar to an economic bubble in a way, where a collective mania drives clearly misguided and self-defeating behavior.

True. The modern Democratic Party is operating under a philosophy not much different than Charlie Manson's "Helter Skelter".

Some really amazingly hyperbolic leaps have been made in this thread. None more than this one.

The same guy who whines about poor little Trump being called out for what he is, or feigns exasperation at Hitler references now cites Charles Manson in democratic comparisons.

JORR,you may as well go all the way and compare another black democratic woman leader to an idiot or traitor, again. And peculiarly defend Trump. Consistency in all things...

 It was a purposely hyperbolic statement.

I don't "defend" Trump. You're just so overwhelmingly partisan that you gloss right past the many times I have criticized him.

And if you're going to give goofs like Maxine Waters a pass simply because of her skin pigmentation, we really shouldn't have a political discussion. There's really nowhere to go from there.

It's grown increasingly difficult to accept that as you so dutifully provide support for the Trumpets.

As for Rep. Waters (or Susan Rice) let's just say that the targets of MANY are telling.
:P

Regarding Waters, how can it be that she made a reputation as an outspoken critic of the CIA yet she is now championing them when it suits her agenda of removing a sitting president? That's partisan hackery at its worst. Something I would expect from a Chicago alderman rather than a longtime member of Congress.

Also, my criticisms of the Democrats are in no way pro-Trump. I've almost always voted Democrat. I don't consider Trump a Republican either. He's a guy on his own. He somehow seems to combine about the worst of every political philosophy one can imagine.

JORR I think the phrase "the enemy of my enemy is my friend" fits your recent posting trend. But then you threw a curveball about his embodiment of the worst of all political philosophies. Pick a lane

Championing is a bit of a stretch

Pretty much everything I've ever said here that has been characterized as a "defense of Donald Trump" is really just commentary regarding what I see as extreme overreaction to his election and the admittedly unorthodox- some would say crazy- way he is approaching his presidency.

There is something to the old saw, "we get the leaders we deserve". I have enough respect for my fellow Americans that I don't think it's the right thing to do to "RESIST!!!!" or attempt to nullify a fair election regardless of how loathsome the elected may be.

I certainly think Trump bears watching. But this Russian crap is clouding the things we really need to pay attention to.

Two months ago you scoffed at the concerns raised about Betsy DeVos, calling it inconsequential. Now her family's donations and perverse loyalties have her fascist brother doing secret negotiations with the sworn enemies of this country. And their supporters calling it a non starter.

That doesn't have anything to do with the Dept. of Education though.

Also, Erik Prince aside, I don't think establishing other countries as permanent "sworn enemies" is a liberal value. Nobody squeaked when Obama attempted a "re-set" with the same "sworn enemy".

He waited until after the election though. When he had more "flexibility".

Trump's desire to decrease tensions with Russia would seem much purer if he weren't such an aggressive militarist on other issues.

Why am I not surprised this writer has no prior experience in the field in which she is employed. I'm surprised she isn't a "community organizer".

So is she a superpowered ICE agent?

I think being a project manager at a non-profit for safe spaces is the definition of community organizer.
