Totally agree. Alec Guinness was great as Smiley in the BBC series, as well.

I know it was played for laughs but no body was cooler at the Spy thing than James Coburn as Flint. The guy was a pallbearer at Bruce Lee's funeral and hung out with Steve McQueen. When I think of the swinging 60's,I think of "Our Man Flint"!
