Yes. Poor, poor Chas. Always the victim.

It's not really about chas. Do you think someone accused of being a sex offender should at least be given the opportunity to explain themself on a message board full of people who don't know them?

I'm not going to try to defend him but it's possible one could be caught in a bad spot. Example being Chas said himself he was a hooker guy. Do you get a charge like that hiring an underage hooker unknowingly? Again, he can come here and do it himself I'm not defending him.

Is that better?

That's the fucking great point. No one has any idea how it went down.

Anyway, I thought chas was a piece of shit far before any of this, as did most. There's no witch hunt necessary to change opinions of him. I'm not defending him by any means.

Come on,. Nas. It makes sense. Guys who post private stuff here or organize events aren't just sharing that info with the "board.". They're sharing it with lurkers and other people who might happen across this website for whatever reason. Probably best to keep that stuff to PMs among people you know/trust.

I have always thought of it as if you had a party at your house. You don't always know everyone that shows up but you have an expectation that they are connected to someone that you likely know.

Still...there are people I would not invite if I knew certain things.

Fair enough but I think it's difficult to make an analogy between here and real life, so to speak. As I write this now I don't imagine just the posters reading this, but really anyone on the web can be reading this. It's a dark place out there. At least in "real life" you know someone who might know someone, and then it becomes easy to have that expectation you spoke of.

For the record... Chas was a hooker guy well after his conviction.
You'd think, or at least hope,w if you got busted with an underage prostitute that'd be the end of your buying hookers.
Anyway the case is public information. I'm sure someone smarter than I will hunt it down.

Having studied and taught about the issue of doxxing, one thing I can say is that people often get it wrong (since people aren't trained to be investigators and real life is usually more nuanced than it appears at first). This guy sounds awful, though, and I can't believe Nas even put up with him being on the board.

You'd think, or at least hope, that he would not use his real name in posting an online review of said hooker(s).

The only list I was ever on was:

FARVE FAN
LEASH
FRANK

You make all of this sound so simple. I not only think it's bullshit, but I think you are being extremely unfair to ALL the CFMBers who have brought their kids around board members, shared stories or photos and you owe them an apology.

We communicate with each other in some cases more than we do our own families and the people we work with. This has been the case for years. Really good friendships have been developed from this board. If you take your kids to work events or to a friend's party and let them roam, why wouldn't you allow them to roam around fellow CFMBers and their kids? I'm confident you know more about people who post here than you do most of your coworkers or friends of your friends.

Are the members of our community perfect? Of course not. Neither are we, our families, friends or coworkers. Some of them/us have also done things that we/others would find reprehensible if we/others had knowledge of. I can't speak for the lurkers, but this community has a diverse and solid group of regulars that I would put up against any similar group anywhere.

Yes. Convicted, and put on a registry with other dangerous people. Those lists are provided for the betterment of society. You better believe I check the one for my area.

He has sought out personal information about posters here, and has threatened to commit some violent act towards posters, and in one case, somebody's family. Knowing that this lunatic isn't just talk, and is capable of committing such atrocities, is kind of a big deal. To pretend that this is just because he is unpopular, is the height of naivety. I wouldn't give a pass to a friend, for doing such a thing.

91 pages about drinky, because people hate him for being mean to stupid callers, and bagging a babe that 95% of the posters here couldn't get, is okay. Pointing out that an unhinged lunatic is a real danger, that's out of line.

hey lipid you know that you're definitely not on my christmas card list or anything, but despite all of that BS i gotta say that you're over 9000% spot-on here. this is [pretty easily >=] the best thing you've ever posted, as it's a good chunk of the raison d'etre (if you will =) of this'ere C/S/FMB.

ok clearly i'm late to the party here [conversationally speaking] so i gotta ask the obvious: WHAAAA HAPPENED!?!?

Chas indecently solicited a child in 2007. Opinion is split in whether this info should've been posted

The weird bastard who lived in the "bait shop" across the street from my house turned out to be on the registry. That made me very nervous for my wife. Is that weird? I don't know. She even said to me that people get put on those lists for bullshit reasons.
Come to fund out that he was molesting his brothers 9 year old.
That shit made my blood run cold, man. This dude was unemployed, always at that house within 100 feet of my front door and my wife works from home.
Scared the shit out of me.
I wished I had checked the list earlier.
I was pretty pissed because a few times a couple board members kids were here while that bastard lived there. Plus he was super creepy.
Would he have attacked my wife... maybe not. He didn't.
I get this is a nonsequiter. Whatever who cares this conversation made me think of it.
