Defended myself against an industry conglomerate over an over billing issue last month.

When I made a move to go to trial, he settled rather quickly. And then complained when i demanded a letter from his client admitting their mistake.

Reasonable. I did too at some point in time.

Clients make cost/benefit analysis of trial beyond the likelihood of success on the merits.

True....my wife's ex-husband dragged out their divorce for 4 years. His attorney dropped him as a client at the 3-year mark because he was such a pain in the ass. Of course after everything was done, the attorney came back and get her money owed. He's now learning how costly it is to breach your child support and leave an open-ended marital settlement agreement. Fucking Deadbeat.

Now....I wouldn't want to be on the Respondent side without an attorney...but I've made sure I've honored my MSA and then some.

I understand that.

They sued and ended up getting less in court than I offered to settle.. Less attorney's fees and court costs too.

I found it humorous that the lawyer complained that I was trying to force him to eat cow.

And Edward Norton insisted that Omar Little make an appearance in The Incredible Hulk but most of his scene got cut.

Doc Gooden tipped his pitches in '84 when the Cubs played them

Do you think when Walt was banging Gretchen back in the day, that he ate an eclair from the garbage or took off his shirt when he went to the bathroom?

I heard Ryno say that. I'd like to see the numbers of Gooden's games vs the Cubs in '84. I'll bet, despite knowing his pitches, Gooden still dominated some games. They were in the same division back then. So they might have seen Gooden 4 or 5 times that year.

It's the old saying with the great pitchers. "They can tell you what they're throwing and you still can't hit it."

I found Gooden's 1984 games.

He faced the Cubs 5 times that year. The first time they saw him they lit him up. The next 4 games Gooden was decent to good. So having his pitches didn't help that much. Outside of that first game.

Last game at wrigley the Cubs won 9-3 even though a few were unearned runs. They hit him a lot better at home than at Shea.

I've apparently always misunderstood the law of supply and demand. Thank goodness our Energy Secretary set me straight...

While visiting a coal-fired power plant in WV yesterday, Rick Perry stated: “Here’s a little economics lesson: supply and demand. You put the supply out there and the demand will follow.”

And to think he could have been president.

I'll bet that kind of thinking also drives the war on drugs (i.e., if you kill the supply, the demand will disappear).

Been ag policy for years. Drive supply up to the point that it out strips demand that the government is forced to create demand via ethanol subsidies.

Here's my favorite. I've done such a good job over the years eliminating baseball from my world that I didn't know until last summer that Kris Bryant was white. And I live on Addison Street! Was stopped at Addison and Kimball and saw an ad on the bus stop with a big picture of him. Till then I had never seen him and always assumed he was black with a name like that.
