And the current goofs in power flaccidly investigated Hillary what 9 times, in part out of the frustration of not being able to investigate Obama once?

If the feds raided your office when you were a defense attorney you would have lost your shit.

Why complain if you have nothing to hide? Just let them take what they want to go about your day.

No. I'd have immediately complained to preserve client rights, especially given the heavy handedness of the U.S. attorney 's offices. Followed by arguments based on constitutional principles that may or may not have had any relevance.

And hoped that I was up for the fight.

I would be surprised if they knew it was coming.

I mean, imagine being a defense attorney for a famous person and the feds walk in and raid your office.

I'm assuming that someone working for the Trump appointee Geoffrey Berman (who approved the raid) would have tipped the president off.

Slick move by Trump, have someone even worse than Trump in the #2 spot so people will be hesitant to pull Trump's ticket and put Pence in power. It's like in the first season of Survivor when the mostly unlikable Richard Hatch made a pact to go all the way to the Final 2 with the despised Kelly-the-rat b/c Richard knew when it came time for the Tribe to vote on an ultimate Survivor/winner they'd hold their noses and vote for Richard over Kelly--no matter how big a shitbag Richard was in reality.

Maybe I'm nuts (yarrrr), but I don't think any (R) of any note is at all concerned about Pence ascending to the Office.

Just finished the WSJ article on the raid, a few things that come to mind:

-I am definitely worried about the violation of attorney/client privilege. However, if the attorney violated the law (committed a crime), then those argumentents probably won't fly. That appears to be the allegation in terms of breaking campaign law by making a large payment on behalf of Trump during a campaign.
-The Mueller investigation is starting to look a lot like the Kenneth Starr witch hunt veering far afield from the original mandate.
-I can't believe how quickly and broadly Trump has gotten himself in trouble. There is just taint everywhere you turn.
-I had to laugh that Trump's lawyer complained about not being paid back by Trump. "Welcome to the club."

esp since Trump's attorney may have himself made phone calls and sent letters on law firm stationary to other Trump creditors telling em to go pound sand, we're in Chapter 11 and you're an unsecured, sucka.

Feels like things are painted into a corner at this point. You have either:
A) Trump denies knowing the existence of the contract and thus there is no attorney/client privilege related to the documents recovered regarding Stormy
B) Trump knew of the hush money and it constitutes making a campaign payment violation

Deep trouble.

One difference being that the Starr investigation resulted in no criminal charges of merit, nor convictions

That's all true, but it looks like powerful interests are trying to run an elected president out of office by any means necessary. It might not be necessary at all now that McCain, Graham, and company are firing up the war machine with Trump as a willing stooge.

Did you read the article or just the headline? An investigation doesn't equal wrongdoing/criminality...The payment could be no issue at all....

Nope just the headline. That is why I wrote that.

Typically most writers include further details under the headline.
