You're just re-wording what the article and Obama are saying. You have the exact same point.

You are daft. He's doubling down and tribes and identity politics.
Isn't he saying he was wrong and that's not what people really want?
He's basically saying I should not have pushed on the "cling to guns and religion". He's not saying most of my legislation did next to nothing to change the circumstances of the people most suffering. In fact he says he left the economy in a good place for Trump.
He did.
7 straight years of economic growth is a good thing.
Economic growth that benefited mostly the people at the very top. That's why people are angry. Their day-to-day is not changing, and many are falling behind. He had the chance to have an economic New Deal, and instead he punted and bailed out the banks.
Here's a revolutionary idea- why should people be a slave to interest rates for their house? If they buy a primary residence why not have a set interest rate so that they can pay off a $100,000 home in 10 years? That was the type of thing he could have proposed at the time. Instead he bailed out the banks and the auto industry.
bailing out the auto industy is not a populist move?
bank bailouts were under the bush administration....
obama was pretty cunty relatively speaking to reagan/clinton/bush to banks with dodd-frank/cfpb...
but whatever, you're on a roll!
