I fit the mold for the plain white tee play shirt until the introduction of Adidas-branded wear mid 1970's, I can recall spending my own saved cash for that midnight blue tee with the ironed-on rainbow glitter Adidas logo at the long-defunct tee shirt shop on main street in our tiny little town. It went well with my Husky dungarees and generic canvas Chuck Taylors. Due to the farm, I always sported a seed corn cap from one company or another. I had a number 32 football-jersey style 3/4 sleeve tee shirt around this time as well, I'm thinking O.J. Simpson was the impetus, but this had no true team colors or names/logos. The really special one was the Hawaii 78 souvenir from our vacation that culminated at Disco Demolition night. I recall Grandpa wearing church pants/dress shirt/white tee to that game because it was so hot, but he normally had a tie on at Comiskey. I do not now, nor have I ever had a "real" team jersey, tee shirts yes, but no jersey other than my own high school crap.
