I've never been in a Woodman's.

Judging from this thread I am either missing out on out of the greatest stores in the world, or missing out on one of the weirdest places on Earth.

It is very weird place. An interesting store nonetheless

Really weird...but I always find stuff I can't find anywhere else, so there's that.

Exactly, they have items that are only found at Woodman’s. I went to Jewel for liquid smoke, and they have one choice. Woodmans has like ten, and their regular prices are always better.

Been shopping there almost 20 years now. Great selection and best prices around. Their meat and produce sections are not the best but everything else including the cheese and liquor dept is all good.
Love that they are open 24 hours. Few things better than going at 4am and getting all my shopping done in 20 minutes and not have to deal with all the sheeple.

Only been to the one in Kenosha. The Buffalo Grove store is 3 miles south of my office and the Lakemoor store is 15 minutes from our house. If you need to get 10,000 steps in...then Woodman's is for you.

I was in one once, probably in Aurora. There was this center aisle of chips/snacks that was like a football field long. I figured there would be a bunch of weird brands I'd never seen before, but it just started repeating about halfway through. It reminded me of this.

In fairness, I think a 7/11 would also confuse Darkside.

I've never been to a Woodman's, but the impression that I get (I'm a Mighty Mighty Bosstone) is that it's essentially an Aldi on steroids: pallets upon pallets of off-brand canned beans and toilet paper that are just as good as the name brands but still make you feel a little weird about buying them, like someone must be cutting some corner somewhere. As far as Wisconsin-based grocery stores go, it still has to be better than Pick 'n' Save, which, other than the one in Mukwonago, always seemed to be bare-shelved and filthy.

This is the Costco Experience

yeah its kind of that but it has like multiple options of offbrand stuff. we vacation at green lake each winter and stop at the sun prairie one o the way up there. it just has everything. like if you didnt think you needed to sort through 10 brands of ketchup think again.

Now that you mention it, yeah. Why isnt it named 24/7? Wouldnt that make more sense?

Back in high school, a girl in our group used to work at a deli/convenience store called "Always Open."

Their business hours were 6am-12midnite all seven days of the week.
