I subscribed to my rural county weekly paper a few weeks ago. 24 pages, not a ridiculous amount of advertising, and a nice perspective compared to big city media. It reminds me of the early days of the Pioneer Press. And they have the mailman deliver it to my mailbox instead of tossing it on my driveway in the rain. At less than 75 cents per copy, I'm pleased with the investment.
Yea I have always enjoyed reading rural papers. You feel like the news is fairly straight-forward without much bullshit sensationalism and slant.
