Better than you do, but not surprised you've never followed the career of the legendary master of the claw hold Baron Von Raschke, so you wouldn't get a reference most that grew up with other dudes who participated in contact sports would understand.
I will get the crayons out for you. A tap out is what happens when an MMA fighter taps the mat to alert the ref that they quit because the opponent is kicking their ass. You just tapped out before the claw was even applied in fear, fairly simple to understand for most guys.
