We kind of have to ignore this one though. What are we going to do? People went insane when gas got to $5 a gallon. Are we going to stop transporting hazardous chemicals? Vinyl Chloride is used in a huge amount of things that are in all of our houses right now. Do we just have all of that stuff made in China?

Make sure the victims get paid and move on is really the only solution. It's heartless for sure but there isn't really another option.

That isn't what's happening though. People talk about a "national divorce", which I assume both you and I can agree is impossible and absurd. But the federal government is basically ignoring a problem in an area where the vast majority of people voted against the current administration. So you can see why people think a national divorce is the only viable option. If this train had derailed in Baltimore or Ferguson, MO, Biden would be talking about nothing else and moving heaven and earth to accommodate The People. He would undoubtedly even be calling railroad right-of-ways racist.

Not to mention the same government that insisted people wear masks for several years to "protect" others from a relatively benign virus are now telling The People that poisonous air and water are perfectly fine.
