We went to see House Party at Hyde Park, and it was so packed that we had to sit on the steps....no way they would allow that nowadays.

Our biggest theaters held 600 people. For those movies once it go to about 580 they would stop selling tickets. That didn't stop some movies with people overflowing in the back. Partly because parents wouldn't keep the little ones on the lap since they didn't pay for them and partly do to people sneaking in since the ticket takers only gave a shit when the security guard or manager was standing by.
