I sent Mac an email or text about it when it happened and pointed him to the thread that M_C (her husband) originally posted.

HHJ and I would organize many of the early remotes to Shoeless Joes, Harry Carry's, Real Time Sports (I think...the first CSFMB Bears game viewing was there). The first picture is actually the first official "board outing" that didn't consist of just me and/or Frank.

Don't forget...HHJ also had the pink "burrito" shirt that she had made. She really was a treat to be around.

Yes, that is my ass at nearly its fattest sitting next to HHJ in that picture. Hard to believe that was almost six years ago. When she extended her hand out to introduce herself to me and said, "Hi, I'm HappyHour Jason". My reply was, "You don't look like a Jason..." Of course she let me in on the joke. And I was asked to keep the scandalous secret of her identity, that lasted about six months until the cat(meow!) Was out of the bag. See people, going to board meetups has it's advantages!!

I'd met Julie a time or two after that. Was at the "Feel Good Monday" of MJH previewing Bears-Vikings at Harry Caray's in Rosemont. I remember that day for a few reasons... I handed the note HHJ wrote to Mac that said, "It's a Feel Good Monday". She instructed me to go hand Mac the note. That is exactly what I did. During a break, I walked up to Mac, handed him the note, turned around and walked away. Mac was left there with his hand extended for a proper introduction. The board table looked at me and gave the group facepalm to me as I bigtimed the Mackeyfish himself!!! Lulz.
Also the last known sighting of my ponytail and long hair look!

I also remember her on the board complaining about her "shoulder pain". Comes to find out it was bacterial pneumonia. Freakin' killed a great person, wife, and friend to anybody that was lucky enough to meet her. I still have her obit from the paper. That is the way to become immortal, affect those around you in such a great way that you are never forgotten. R.I.P. HappyHour Jason.

HHJ was (& still is) one of my favorite people on this board. I consider her my first "internet friend". I wish I could've met her in person. Almost did, but unfortunately what happened happened. I was in a funk for days afterward. I remember it all like it was yesterday.

Anyway, I have the mp3 from MJH where Mac announced her passing on air, if anyone wants it.

I thought I had it as well but do not...
I would like to hear it again....send it to me and I'll post it on my soundcloud and link it.

Met her for the first time at the infamous W_Z vs. Irish Guy post-soccer match fight. Also had a funny story around meeting up with them at MayFest. I felt really bad we couldn't make the wake as we were out of state for a conference. I haven't talked to him in a while, but I think the wife has talked to M_C a few times and he seems to be doing well.

Wow,that really is sad. I've been on this board 3 years now and never knew anything about this person. That is a real shame. Pretty scary way to die to. As I get older,you start to spend more time looking behind instead of what's up ahead.

I'll never forget "HHJ." She was such a warm, thoughtful and fun person to be around. We worked just a building away and we'd commute back to the city every now and then or meet mr. mitch cumstein for a drink in rosemont. Great poster. Better person.

beni, thank you for remembering that. probably the quickest song i've ever written. the best compliment i've ever received about any work i've ever done was when her sister sent me a message through youtube telling me she cried through the song, thanked me for writing it, and said she showed her daughter and said "that was my sister, your aunt", and said it was a very touching moment for both of them. i felt very honored.

i still have an old PM she wrote a week or so before she died. i'll probably always keep it.
