I think there are many kinds of derailment

Frank - Not sure if he is trying to be funny or just has nothing constructive to add to a conversation, but it is a usual happening.
Douchebag- Usually not the initiator, 2nd man in...says something.
Don Tiny- Photo bombing threads. Normally somewhat relevant, but leads to a derailment.
IMU - Much more of a stream of consciousness akin to the parody thread. He's the guy to take STEAKHOUSE and find a pic or Article of a places where they make STAKES. Still not funny.
Sini - The thread killer.


Saw the mention of a Krazy Ivan. The last thing he wants to do is to derail a thread, would take away the attention on him.

yeah i definitely end up technically being a tangential-mastermind (i haven't gone by my old tag name "threadkilla" since the mid-00s tho) but i also want to point out that it's a tad disingenuous to call me a thread killer nowadays because 95% of people on the board ignore me anyways.

which hey, that's fine too. if i were to sit down and truly try to cater everything i wrote to be all things to all people i'd go mental because at this point it was the introductory posting i did years ago that earned me whatever reputation i've got now, so if i make 27 consecutive short sweet and 100% on topic posts it doesn't matter because when i have that one "classic" me-post people are gonna be like "see? every fucking time"

i do it for the 10% who come here to read and write and champion discourse, not the ones who are bored at work and wanna play an extended game of grabass because their 9-5s must be some kind of cool to allow them to sit there hugboxing with teh radio on and all that.

It doesnt always mean it is a bad thing, as I dont think some try to derail anything, they just do. Someone adds a story, it reminds someone of something else....it happens.

Then there is just the person who cant seem to be part of a normal conversation, but you can make your own guesses as to who that is.
