however so many years ago we had a nice stretch of weather similar to this I had a dog that I usually had to drag kicking and screaming into the house. He was okay with coming in those nights. Our Husky mix we have has been a royal pain the ass these past couple days as all he wants to do is be outside but even he only lasts about 5 minutes before knocking on the door to come back in.

The rabbits and feral cats will find a warm place to hunker down and as long as they aren't too old or too young they will be fine. A house cat is a different story.

My bike has been in the shop and it's supposed to be ready tomorrow. I mentioned to my wife that I was thinking of going to get it and riding it the three miles back. She said she would file for divorce if I was that fucking stupid.

Why would she do that? She'd be more likely benefit if she were to collect on any life insurance policy if you followed through with your plan.

Insurance company might consider that suicide, and not pay out.

I've been able to get my Boxer to pee but he hasn't taken a crap since yesterday morning. I really need him to go when I get home at 3 today.
I feel bad for him as he is just shivering and looking at me like I am abusing him. Not a very good cold weather dog. I wish I could reason with
him and let him know that it is going to get worse the next few days and to just enjoy taking care of business now. Hoping I don't have a mess
to clean up at home. :eye:

If you think he is actually blocked up and not just having a tuff time with the cold, put a little olive oil in his food.

I am actually quite worried about letting our dog out the next 48 hours. She does not do well walking on the snow and ice when its this cold.

My almost 16 year old Kelpie is having a rough time too (I have too many dogs). She's kind of loopy and want to walk to her bath room spot but its just not happening as she insists on doing in a straight line and there is a 3 foot drift in the way.I've dug it out, fills back in.. Just is what it is. Been taking her out front and letting her take care of business there but its a struggle. Next 48 is going to suck.

I don't have a fenced yard so every time the dog needs to go out, so do I. I almost slipped twice at lunch walking in my work dress shoes. Thought for
sure I was going down the one time but caught myself on one leg. What a dumb way to get hurt.

Loyola canceled all classes last night at midnight and told any of us non essential employees to stay home till noon Thursday.

Anyone trying to do any outdoor exercise tomorrow is going to wind up like the girl/bad guy in Wind River.

I pray for any doggos out in the elements.

My company just offered to pay for parking or uber for people tomorrow with no limits.

I dont think they understand how far away people live. We got a guy that lives a half mile from Wisconsin. His Uber would be $800 tomorrow.

Good deal for the driver. If I was friends with the guy I'd split the reimbursement if I was a driver.

My dog didn't make it until I got home. Just got the call from my wife. At least he aimed for the hardwood floor.

My pit mix loves being outside. Even with her short hair she'll mess around my parents backyard or go on walks that last for 45+ minutes if it's in the 20s.

With these temps and snow she's drawn a line. Even though we put on boots and a jacket for walks she just heads out to do her business and then turns around to go inside.

A pitt mix would head for the nearest bar.

We gave everyone the day off tomorrow. Unfortunately, I have a hearing tomorrow night that doesn't look like it is going to be cancelled. Only angry people show up to meetings in sub zero weather.

My dog walks around picking up his feet all goofy in this weather. I think it's because the snow and ground are so cold that he has to rotate which paws are on the ground. It's kinda funny to watch though. He goes to the fence barking at people who walk by like a tough guy and then prances back to the house like a princess.

That's exactly it. Happens to my dogs paws when it's too cold out. Even though she hates wearing boots it eliminates that issue.

An easier middleground solution (since dogs despise boots) is Musher's Secret. It's a wax you can rub into their paws that'll moisturize and help insulate the paws somewhat.
