Chaperoning 8th Grade trip to Six Flags today, playing a Latin gig tonight, short Latin set at a benefit in Woodstock tomorrow afternoon, then JoyDog tomorrow night...might be dead by Sunday morning...but loving it...

Those Six flags trips were a hoot. Anybody go on the Whizzer with your kid? We always ask that in our house.

I got the 3rd or 4th best compliment I could get today. We have a painter painting our stairway because it's looked horrible for about 15 years. Anyway he walks into our kitchen and says I've been in a lot of houses and this is one of the most beautiful and beautifully designed kitchens I've ever seen. My wife would love this.

Best compliment I could receive would be some variation of your kids are great and the second best is Those are really good baguettes. 3rd maybe would be a personal compliment but I'm not sure what would flatter me the most.

No but it's how professional kitchens are and I see why people do it.

I live in a small place, but regardless, I'm a big fan of the galley kitchen. It's perfectly designed for the work you're doing there.

We have some friends that are doing a $40,000 kitchen remodel. It seems like form isn't really going to follow function. It's designed to create a whole lot of extra steps.

Galley kitchens are great for cooking in but really bad for entertaining. I think it's really hard to design a kitchen let alone a house. One of our friends has an ass ton of money and redid their kitchen a few years ago. It looks very magaziney. Every time we are there all I can think is this is a really impressive kitchen to somebody that doesn't cook but wants to impress people. The layout is odd. They usually fully cater parties.

IMO, the easiest way to see if somebody spent money or cooks is to get them talking about their stove then knives or their favorite couple things they use. If you want to impress somebody get a la cornue stove but if you really want to impress somebody know how to use it and it should be seasoned. I've always wanted to try a French top. I get it because I would love a sub zero pro series fridge. No matter how much money we have or don't have I know I'll never get one. As my husband reminds me 2k fridge keeps your food just as cold as a 20K one.

Got the company seats behind home plate for the local minor league team tonight. Free food and drinks and all we have to do is tip the server well. Should be a nice night for a ball game.

Minor league games are cool and fun.

Cheap but just as much fun, and laid back.

You dont need to tip no server. This is not a restaurant. It's a fuckin stadium.

Take the free food.

Stay classy whistler. It was a fun game, the food was pretty good and the beer cold. The server was not very good but I kind of felt bad for her, she must have been at least in her 60s. Kind of a position for a younger person who can hustle. Oh well.

I'm so proud of my wife's dog. He's a 15 lb terrier mix and is the consummate momma's boy. He follows her to every room and is pretty much obsessed with her. Fast forward to today. While on a walk, we pass a house with a large dog barking from behind a fence. What does our dog do? That's right- he shits on their yard! Now that is a power move!! Naturally, we bagged it because we are are good neighbors but the sentiment remains. I praised him and gave him an entire beef stick when we got home.

Had a 7 pound Yorkie, that mf'er possessed Uncle Doug's neanderthal gene and would launch himself after any dog that go too close when I was walking him, had to pick him up by his harness once because the other dog would have killed him, and then I would've had to explain to the wife that her precious dog was dead.

He then he would piss on whatever he could to send a message, it's in the breed, some terriers are psycho alpha males.

Our daughter's Schnauzer does this move to larger dogs in our neighborhood when he is at our home.

Rofl. I am a bit of a dog snob myself as I prefer larger dogs and find smaller ones annoying. But like all else in life, to each his own. I own weims.
