Let's say a wounded veteran later loses their Purple Heart, during a move or house fire or something. Does that person have less valor when the physical award is not in their possession? What about when it's not in their immediate possession? Do you have yo carry your awards at all times as a veteran to have valor? Is valor completely contingent on physical embodiments of awards and grades? (No, the answer you're looking for is "no".)

But only in cases where there is the intention of obtaining money, property, or other tangible benefit by convincing another that he or she received the award. I don't think in the original posts you could draw a line of tangible benefit to the claims, but if there were further lies after the $100 bounty was placed, then I think you have a case there.
