It's a party full of pussies, what do expect? Crying is only fine if you win.

Its sad to see how many men are opposed to seeing America's alphiest alpha male in charge of this country.

He's a shithead but he's the leader we need.

I'm ready to help build that wall.

Fact is, unless Clinton somehow wins in Arizona, Trump is going to be the next president.

Barring a miracle in IA its over. 269-269 is a Trump win because the Republicans held the House decisively and the Trump mandate will force the #NeverTrump's in the Republican party to tow the line.

RCP has Trump at 255.

Give him Alaska's 3, Arizona's 11, and 1 from Maine District 2 and that gets him to 270.

Ive been saying this for more than a decade. Bill Clinton was great at courting white ethnics. Then the Nationals Democratic Party started to define ethnic as black and Hispanic, completely negating the origins of the outreach group

I think they identify less and less with the party and, in many ways, its constituents too.

Awesome to see Paul Krugman in shock and despair:

We still don’t know who will win the electoral college, although as I write this it looks — incredibly, horribly — as if the odds now favor Donald J. Trump. What we do know is that people like me, and probably like most readers of The New York Times, truly didn’t understand the country we live in. We thought that our fellow citizens would not, in the end, vote for a candidate so manifestly unqualified for high office, so temperamentally unsound, so scary yet ludicrous.

We thought that the nation, while far from having transcended racial prejudice and misogyny, had become vastly more open and tolerant over time.

We thought that the great majority of Americans valued democratic norms and the rule of law.

It turns out that we were wrong. There turn out to be a huge number of people — white people, living mainly in rural areas — who don’t share at all our idea of what America is about. For them, it is about blood and soil, about traditional patriarchy and racial hierarchy. And there were many other people who might not share those anti-democratic values, but who nonetheless were willing to vote for anyone bearing the Republican label.

I don’t know how we go forward from here. Is America a failed state and society? It looks truly possible. I guess we have to pick ourselves up and try to find a way forward, but this has been a night of terrible revelations, and I don’t think it’s self-indulgent to feel quite a lot of despair.

Explanation of what?

A few weeks ago, my son was reading an excerpt from a book for some writing exercise . My take away quote was "I think this is a Chinese lie because the Chinese, like the Mexicans, don't like their women strong." I've used it a few times. Because their children are gay and it scares them is good too.
