Really? Nate Silver hasn't been quiet enough. Guy spent the whole primary season getting owned by a 24-year-old from Twitter and still thinks he has any authority.

Totally with you. He just says, I know how to play the game better than anyone so hire me.

It's like a flawed judicial system, when you need a good lawyer, you hire the slimiest insider you can find. He knows every loophole, dirty trick, and isn't above pushing the envelope to get you off.

You should be right, but Hillary went one-on-one with Bernie and had to have the media rescue her from Bernie raising his finger to the moderators and not letting her cut him off. If she gets the Trump Treatment and the media does the same act, it could make her look pretty pathetic.

Clinton has already shown that she's going to approach Trump very differently than she did Bernie. She's a fool if she doesn't brawl from the convention to the election. The problem for her is that her campaign advisors actually seem to be fools.

Whenever someone pins Trump down he comes up small. When he is allowed to obfuscate he does much better. The spotlight that will be on him now is much greater than before. He has to make the case that he will be an effective President.

It can't be simply about an anti establishment, anti Hillary vote. He has to be able to reach a wider audience than Republican primary voters.

For as much bashing about how the world doesn't like Hillary, she garnered more votes than Obama in 08 and she received nearly 4 million votes than Sanders this time. She is a formidable foe that has been involved in politics at the highest levels. That means something.

This is why I don't think the polling data holds up with regard to Trump and why Nate Silver's world is collapsing. A friend of mine was just telling me he doesn't like Trump but he's going to vote for him because he hates Clinton. And then he said, he would never say that to a pollster because it's too embarrassing.

But a lot of people who hate Hillary are going to vote for her anyway (not me, though) because they hate Trump even more.

Yeah, but I would think less of them are going to lie to pollsters about it. I hate Hillary and I wouldn't describe my feelings for Trump as "hate" exactly, but I could never vote for him for president.

yes on the first thought, maybe on the second thought but again, it doesn't matter. Hillary is already picking out the paint colors for some bedrooms. Trump only wins if Hillary announces her support for Hitler.

You keep saying this without offering any evidence to support your point. Care to elaborate?

Agreed. She has been murdering him on the stump. When Hillary Clinton is in attack mode she is at her best. It would be stupid to campaign against Trump the way she campaigned against Obama and Sanders. She needs to go right at him.

Trump will cry about the debate moderators and the media spin regardless of the outcome. They will have to institute a No Flopping rule at the end of this election.

I think that is a pretty good read on them. I have to think Clinton is absolutely dreading the debates. That is not her strong point. She struggled with Bernie in debates. Trump is a whole different animal. He will excel in the moment. They could be the push he needs in the swing states to win the whole thing.

On policy I think she will murder Trump in the debates. She held back on Bernie. I think Trump wins on style and style may be all the public cares about.

Christie killed Clinton on policy two days ago in his mock trial. What does Hillary have to stand on as far as her own policy history, except failures?

The only thing Hillary has to stand on is her gender, when she's the poster child for wife enablers of cheating husbands.

Is Hillary Clinton actually supposed to support and defend the women who are fucking her husband? I imagine if I fucked some guys wife he wouldn't have anything nice to say about me on top of wanting to kick my teeth in.

Are they really having Sheriff Joe Arpaio speak tonight?? This just confirms all the worst assumptions about the rise of Trump.

Aren't you the same guy who has been predicting that Elizabeth Warren would be the next president for the past year?

And that's President Elizabeth Warren. Don't get it twisted.

Warren is set up to be the Democrat front-runner starting November 9th. She will pow-wow to the nomination and then scalp Trump in 2020. Book it.

What is the over/under on the "Crooked Hillary" quote tonight in Trump's speech? Hard to put a good number on it because sometimes he likes to repeat the same thing two or three times in ten seconds. I'd say 8 1/2 is the number.

For all the fun that people make of others' names, 'Reinhold Richard "Reince" Priebus' has to be a top-10 awful name ... it doesn't help that he delivers a speech with all the natural aplomb of Jon Lovitz' Liar character.

I'd go 1 and take the under.

I suspect he's taking a different approach tonight.

We're all aware that there's no guarantee, Constitutional or otherwise, of one's "pursuit of happiness", yes?

When does Trump speak? 9pm?

Do you think he's on the teleprompter tonight or goes off of it? He really engages the audience off of it, but more prone to saying things that the campaign regrets. I am going to say he jumps off at least once or twice.

I'm not entirely clear as to why it's so bad to use semi-archaic technology for nuclear weaponry ... it's very nature is a safety measure from what I understand of it.

Completely agree -- it's hard to hack into something over the Internet when the thing was built before the Internet existed.

Well on top of that, the very limited space available on the media is a terrific buffer against surreptitious malware (etc.), at least of any size or efficacy, from being packaged along with what's supposed to be there.
