I remember hearing Billy Joel's Piano Man for the first time, in my buddy Kenny's basement, mid-seventies. We were hooked on heavy metal (and obscure Chicago punk rock) and I could not get over the idea that we all liked songs by a guy with absolutely no guitars and all keys, what a concept! I used to not like The River very much, thought the instrumentation was too dull compared to the first three albums, but I've come around on it in the last year or two. I don't know what my favorite Springsteen song is. Probably "Lost in the Flood" or "Incident on 57th Street."
