And a big recall on some of these 2 hours before it starts.

Got the welding helmet out to watch here in a bit. I was pretty meh about it, and then I learned it would be 20 years until it comes back here. Might not be around then, so just embracing this for a few minutes. Very curious to see how dark it will get.

300 couples in Arkansas have gathered for a mass wedding during the total eclipse.

Family-only event, I assume.

Another Arkansas eclipse-related oddity...Gov. Sarah Huckabee Sanders declared a state of emergency on Friday ahead of the solar eclipse, according to a news release.

I was surprised at how it cooled off. Someone here had some glasses (not the ones recalled) looked up at 2:05. Pretty neat....I guess.

It was fun for a few minutes. Always neat how the shadows change and it is dark like through a lens. Glad I did not go to Carbondale for that.

We had a rabbit and an Alaskan Malamute many years ago. The rabbit used to hump the dogs head.

Rabbits will hump anything. I am naming my next one Nas.

  I'm a little selective

Then I highly recommend the Dutch rabbits. They are sweet and docile.

I caught a jack rabbit as a kid and kept it. My youngest daughter had an expensive rabbit that died. I forget what type of rabbit it was, but it was big and fluffy.

I have snakes and a dog. I will probably get another dog soon, but I think I'm gonna stick with the snakes and dogs. I'll only have one child at home in a year. I don't want to add any significant challenges to my plate.

Our goal the past several years has been to reduce the number of mammels in our house. After one false start and a near miss we appeared to have hit the sweet spot; no pets and both our sons are on their own. Maybe down the road a dog may reappear but right now it is just easier not having pets.

They require a lot of attention. At some point I'll probably just be a reptile guy.

Apparently a lot of locales did because of what some areas experienced last time. We drove down for the one 7 years ago because my wife wanted the kids to see one. It was a bit of a shit show when people went to leave. This year, I stepped out the front door, put on some welding stuff and took a gander at 91% eclipse instead of a total. Total was a bit cooler but I didn't feel like driving 4 hours again.

I was in Cleveland for something so I saw the totality. Much cooler than I thought, when it actually arrived.

The hotel was packed with nerds wearing "take me to your leader" type shirts.

It was chaos down here the entire day. People came out of the woodwork. The Loves on the edge of our town had people camped out and sitting in lawn chairs all over at like 9am. Then afterwards it was nuts getting all the traffic cleared out. Police had to direct traffic for like 4 hours

In the end it was semi-interesting I guess. Glad I didn't travel far to see it but 90+% coverage was cool enough. Had a perfect view of it in my backyard.

Yes. 70 degree days do that to overweight people

Partial is ehhh. Total is Gucci. I thought no wonder cavemen were convinced it was the end of the world.
