You are the probable-Protestant who spread false information. Why don't you just drive the monkey to the airport?

I admit to being Methodist, was not my intention to spread false info. Forgive me. In this fallen world, I must be more vigilant.

If he turns out to be a Chicago born Packers fan, he is the anti-Christ.

How crazy would it be if you’re just minding your own business on the south side and your brother becomes the pope?

Come on, we are not asking the important questions...Does he have a social media strategy? Ideally, the new Pope should be fluent in at least three things: Latin, climate activism, and leveraging Instagram Stories. A TikTok blessing? Chef’s kiss. If he’s not engaging Gen Z with a soft launch of sainthood or dropping an NFT rosary, it’s a missed opportunity.

As for his platform—he better be pro-renewable energy, crypto-neutral, and casually throwing shade at billionaires while blessing co-ops and urban gardens. Also, a progressive stance on espresso culture wouldn’t hurt. A pope who favors AeroPress over espresso? Bold. Maybe too bold.

My phone has been blowing up all day. I'm probably about three degrees of separation from this pope. It almost wants me to be a practicing Catholic again, but I'd still rather not.

Close priest friend of mine went to CTU with new pope. Strange to think how close things can intersect.

It’s an incredible story. The most consequential institution in the history of the world is being led for the first time by an American who was raised within a reasonably close drive to most of us.

Yes my son. I knew I was going to be asked to be pope, but I preemptively took my name out of consideration.

It's pretty obvious he's intended to be a compromise between the pragmatists and hardliners: there's enough continuity with Francis, but he seems like he might walk back some of the more extreme instances of humanity and compassion.

I gotta say, this is the best feeling in Sox fandom since 2005. Nice to have God not actively working against us for once.

Biden was suppose to be a moderate, he wasn't. Everybody said lightfoot was terrible then they elected someone more terrible. The trend of most Western world leaders has not been you know what let's compromise, it's let's run farther left. I was not a huge fan of Francis but things can get worse. Francis appointed about 80% of the voting cardinals and I don't think he surrounded himself with good people. I have doubts they'd put in somebody that will walk back anything. That's not how it is suppose to work and I'm aware that after a fat pope comes a thin one. We shall see.

I didn't hate Francis but there are a lot of things I didn't like and there are enough red flags. If Leo goes further left, I'll be less of a fan and might accuse him of being the Antichrist. Let's hope he doesn't ride a white horse at installation er papal inauguration.

Of the 10 American cardinals that could vote (and I think all were appointed by Francis) 2, Raymond Burke and Timothy Dolan seem conservative. Burke ended up on Francis's shit list - wouldn't appoint or reappoint him to things type stuff. Of the other 8, Cupich (who I'm sure Seacrest and dolphin have opinions) and Kevin Farrell, like Pope Francis, have ties and pretty direct ties to Ted McCarrick, which is a non starter for me. Cupich also seems more interested in his career than anything else...not like Cardinal George or Bernadin but again I'm sure dolphin and Seacrest have more and better opinions. Joseph Tobin, Wilton Gregory, Daniel DiNardo, Robert McElroy, and James Michael Harvey - (although can't find much on him specifically) sound like lefty leftys and also pretty liberal on immigration and/or LGBTQ+ issues which world leaders in certain countries will continue to push. A few of them are at best not what should be high ranking in the Catholic Church and at worst complete crazy people.

If I end up hating, as you say, this Pope I'll be able to tell you why and with good reason. Will you be emotively dancing around to some guitar heavy inclusive hymn for liberation, peace, and justice while not practicing or believing in anything remotely related to Jesus Christ and his teachings while believing you are morally superior and have it all right in accordance with loving your neighbor or do you just not go to church because you are secular?
