Obviously he was trained for this "interview" but he still doesn't come off as someone who is telling the truth.

See that is the thing. From what I understand, Teo, in his whole 3 year relationship, had 2 pictures of this person, and had never seen a video or got a picture text. I've seen more pictures of many board members here than Teo has of the love of his life.

That is just one of the many surreal things. Even if we understand that it was an online only relationship, it was one of the worst online relationships ever.

I'm leaning towards the gay theory, because it explains almost everything. The internet/phone relationship becomes a real relationship, and thus it makes sense that it could go on for a long time. And it makes sense that he would lie and say his s/o is a girl. But:

Why, why, why concoct the phony death? Does it really make sense that they figured it would increase his exposure? Wow, that seems like quite a gamble. But, I guess it did work, for a while at least, so, I guess I can see that.

But then the bigger question is - why the hell is ND backing him up in all of this???? Does Jack Swarbrick really, really believe the whole pack of lies that Manti was duped? You gotta be kidding. Or is he lying, to help cover-up both the gay story and the fake death story? Both of those make him and ND look unbelievably and unforgivably stupid.
