Fair enough, but I don't think that I was reaching with that, nor do I think that I was the only one that made that connection.

Wrong often has company.

That was just how I, and perhaps others read it. Either way, I have too much respect for you to argue over it.

The nature comment concerns me. Women like men who partake in natural things.

And btw, anyone who says that they've been married for years and never had an arguement, had one awfuly shitty marriage.

Or they're just lying.

Or maybe they just respect each other and don't see any usefullness in fighting over stupid shit.

I've certainly never seen anything that would dispute it when you say you and DW don't fight/argue/whatever we are talking about and I have no reason to think you are being dishonest about the matter but simple law of averages when it comes to women and hormones would suggest there had to be some instances where you were driven to wits end and had to at least have a dust up here or there.

That, or you have the patience of a saint.

*mostly fueled by a stupid argument I had with the lady today

We've been married now 6 and a half years... Together over 10 and I can't recall a single argument. As argumentative as I come off on the board I'm quite mellow in person and dw is about as mellow as they come. We both try very hard to see whatever thru the others eyes and we know each other so well now we pretty much know how the other will react to everything. Its strange I guess... But quite normal to us.
I don't really know what to say. We don't fight about anything. Never really did.
She'll say the same thing if you ask her at the game.

And yeah rfdc, she does indeed.

I'll continue the Darkside and DW circlejerk. They seem like two personalities that just really connected, which is pretty cool to see considering many more people I know are or have been in challenging marriages.

Probably a hundred different reasons why couples are talking less. My wife and I talk through some of dinner and usually spend some of our time on our cellphones. Just sort of how things are.

 I'll back you up on this. I can only think of minor arguments that only lasted about 10 minutes or so. It may happen about once a year. It's almost always a side effect of something else(bad day at work, stress).

The key, at least for me, is to never, ever escalate things. Be right 99% of the time. You can be wrong 1% of the time. Once the situation is resolved, it will be much more productive to talk.

Clearly, the key is to get it all out of your system on a message board.

Just recently my girlfriend told me that I would rather argue than communicate. My answer to that is that arguing is communication.

I'm not sure how many of you are familiar with the habits of the European Honey Bee, but when a colony is seeking a new place for its hive, scouts are sent out in search of a proper place. The scouts return to the colony and begin to dance as a method of "selling" the locations they have scouted. The colony will take the advice of the bee that dances the longest and hardest. You have to keep dancing until your point is made. That's why Boilermaker Rick and I are about to go seven or eight pages on the historical greatness of LeBron. We nothing more than bees doing our dances.

I talk to lots of people on my cell (many for business obviously), but I leave my cell phone in the car when we go to a resturant, movie or any other place we are going to spend time together at. If I miss a emergency.....I'm not a doctor. The emergency will have to wait, just like in the days before cell phones. In my eyes, talking or texting while on a date, even if it is just a casual lunch/dinner with your wife is terribly rude. If I were single and a date brought a cell into a resturant and proceeded to talk/text on her phone, I would express how rude I thought that behavior was and walk away from the date. It's unacceptable behavior.

Couples go out that have kids at home. It would be irresponsible to not have a phone with us when we dine or go to a movie like we did last Friday. A babysitter should be able to get a hold of you on a moments notice. I'm not a doctor, but I am contacted during off hours on a regular basis.

Your point about leaving the phone in the car otherwise is well taken.

I might care for you to explain what a "fuck puppet" is.

Do you have a moment?

I think they are also referred to as "love dolls".

This is all you have ......your guy posts about how he texts while dining with you at resturants and thats what you come up with? Maybe you should focus on the fact that Crystal Lake Hoffy doesn't find you interesting or entertaining enough to give you his undivided attention, so he chooses to text others while with you. That he looks for stimuli from other sources because you are clearly incapable of providing enough. Perhaps thats worth taking time to consider.
